“The shade of difference that separates a greaser from a hood wasn 't present in Dally. ”(Hinton 10). The only person that Dally ever loved was Johnny. Johnny is a vulnerable sixteen year old who comes from an abusive home. The greasers are the only family that he has ever known and he is the pet of the gang.
The only motivator that Holden has to continue living is his younger sister, Phoebe, who is extraordinarily intelligent for her age. After he gets kicked out of Pencey, Holden is lost in life. He speaks to many people, seeking advice and comfort, but they are not able to help him find a human connection. Holden’s depression increases throughout the novel, almost to the point of suicide. He criticizes many people and ideas, labeling them as ‘phony’.
Gregor began to resent his father for throwing household items at him, squashing him like a bug. Even his beloved sister Grete began irritating Gregor by removing all of his belonging from his room, leaving him with nothing. Johnny Cade, a young greaser at the age of 14 who lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Johnny Cade had black eyes with jet-black hair heavily greased and combed to the side. Johnny was born in March, 1, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Johnny didn't have a job and he also didn't go to school so most of the time he was alone or hanging out with Ponyboy, Sodapop, Darry, Dallas or any of the other Greasers. Johnny died in October 2, 1965 from a fire accident and had several severe burns and a broken back.
These are the reason’s why Johnny’s the outsider in the book The Outsider by S.E Hinton are for the following reasons. First he’s the gang pet, as well as he is he is different from all the others, and he’s is almost alway silent. And here are evidence why.
