THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
Ever since supermarkets and hypermarkets, have appeared they have likewise played an important role in food supply. The distribution structure is usually recognized by enterprises and purchasers. This stores are increasingly valued by consumers, compared to their commercial formats, which produces the gradual withdrawal of the traditional markets.
Everyone has different needs, and he wanted to fulfil these needs. Maslow (1943) formulates a hierarchy of human needs and he defends that when the person satisfies his basic needs, he develops higher needs and wishes. Among these needs, it founds a food needs, and …show more content…

But for the present, Joners Supermarket is losing its luster have become and stagnant on what they are for the past 32 years since it was established. The management has not implemented changes or even laid innovations in the store since it is still surviving. Even in such a situation it doesn’t mean that there is no problem.
The Joners Supermarket is facing a big problem because they are losing their customers, the quality of their products is not the same as before, the fast turnover rate of their employees and the number of their competitors in Lolomboy. The store already reached its maturity stage. Should Joners Supermarket innovate or continue the system still in effect since they are continuously making money yet merely surviving because of it?

According to Vernon (1196) product life cycle theory is still widely used in marketing and economics. According to Raymond Vernon each product has a life cycle and its starts with its development and ends when it declines.
