From the essay, The Dead Baby Mystery, Gawade starts with a court case that involves the murders of eight children of Marie Noe that no one could explain what happened. As Gawande writes, “some of the most respected pathologists of the time, could find no explanation for the crib deaths” (202) and “Foul play was strongly considered, but no evidence for was found” (202). What Gawande has written is that at the time, cases like these, child murder or accident, determines not easily. Even three decades later — the case reopened and the judge charges her of child abuse — one of the officials that wrote back to Gawande stating “that there was no direct evidence to support the charges” (Gawande 204). That quote Gawande wrote to show that the charge came from indirect or circumstantial evidence.
Alex King killed his father at the age of 13, he got only 7 years in prison. Once he was out, he got into a car accident and ran from authority going back into the system. This is just one incident, now moving onto Nathaniel Abraham, who killed a 17 year old when he was just 11 years old got only 10 years in a juvenile facility. Abraham was not tried as an adult, got out was charged with not only drug possession, but also charged for assaulting 2 guards facing more time in prison. Therefore, not trying juveniles as adults will or possibly can lead them to committing other minor or major crimes.
Mr. James Kimball, at 23 years old, was a school bus driver who pursued a 15 year old student he’d known for two years. Eventually their “flirtatious” relationship escalated to a “single-sexual encounter” on or about October 3, 1991. The relationship was brought to light by the parents of the child henceforth urging Mr. Kimball to plead guilty to one count of statutory rape in 1992, where the judge then imposed a withheld judgment with a three year probation. After that, Mr. Kimball was accordingly put on the Sex Offender Registry. Due to the essence of the given facts and case report, the disparity in time from the crime to the present, and the technicality of the psychosexual evaluator’s report, I would not have aired the story on Mr.James Kimball.
Tone Clusters’s drama by Joyce Carol Oates tell about middle-age marriage couple, Frank Gulicks and Emily Gulicks who are being interviewed on their son’s (Carl Gulicks) suspect of a murder case. Carl Gulicks arrested and ready for his trial of being suspected for mutilation, sadistic murder and sexual assault of fourteen-years-old girl, she is Edith Kaminsky. Furthermore, the parents kept insisting their certainly that their son is innocent, even though being displayed with many evidences of witness statements, verification of his alibi and confiscation of extensive collection of military literature and pornographic magazine that strongly lead his possibility of being a murderer and also it can be reliable that there is sexual behaviour disorder in Carl Gulicks’s soul. This study would like to expose about the paraphilia as abnormal sexual behaviour in the Tone Cluster which bring Carl Gulicks as the model.
The United States v. Lopez case was about Alfonzo Lopez, a 12th grade student from San Antonio, who came to school carrying a hidden weapon. Under Texas law he was charged with possession of a firearm. Later on he was dismissed of this violation and was later charged with “federal criminal statute”. He was found violating “ The Gun-Free School Act”, which was created in 1990. His sentence was 6 months in prison and two years of being supervised while being released.
Many places around the world have Sex trafficking, but you just don't know it. Here in Idaho in the months of December-January two major announcements were made. Idaho made its first arrest of a Sex trafficking criminal. The man, Michael Wade will be spending 20 years of his life in the federal jail for sexually enslaving a 15 year old girl. Sex trafficking and human trafficking in general is a strange topic that could never happen, or that is what we like to think.
“Casey Anthony had reported her two-year old Caylee missing on June 9, 2008, she later admits that she had not seen Caylee in over 30 days before filing the claim” (Casey Anthony Fast Facts). Upon receiving this news, the police arrest Casey on considerable suspicion of child neglect. The police begin to inspect Casey’s car where they find “traces of human decomposition and hair lying in her trunk” (Casey Anthony Fast Facts). August 5, 2008 is when Casey is officially charged with child neglect, but is soon released on a $500,000 bail.
Following the attack, the victim moved from San Antonio to Dallas. The case remained unsolved for a little over a year, that was until Dallas detectives mailed another photo line up to the victim in San Antonio, where she subsequently chose Lindsey as her alleged rapist. Just imagine someone picking you out of a photo lineup that they received in the mail a year after a crime was committed. This lineup was improper because no law enforcement officer was present to administer the lineup in a controlled setting, a year had passed since the crime and only two of the six men pictured were shirtless. (Johnnie Lindsey,
“Two of the other suspects made deals with the prosecutor, pleading guilty to second-degree murder and naming Andy as the triggerman,” but that was not the reason why he was convicted, but for being part of a carjacking at the time of Lohrmeyer’s murder. He got sentenced to life without parole. The decision of whether young criminals should be tried in juvenile courts or adult courts has created a lot of controversy throughout the years. Juveniles should be tried as juveniles. Being tried according to their age is fairer.
Insert painful scream here. In April of 2006, the paperwork was filed. We were an approved foster home. Any day now the call asking us if we were ready to become a family could come.
The legal issue as discussed above is related to whether there is enough physical evidence to say that Scott Peterson is the murderer. His behavior, the fact that he had an affair with Amber Fray shortly before his wife 's disappearance that he continued to do so after her disappearance, and that he lied multiple times, and his going to the Berkley Marina on the day of his wife 's disappearance while the bodies of the victims were found not too far from that location, make him a very likely suspect. He also had a life insurance of 250 000$ put under Laci 's name (Dockterman, 1), and showed a behavior that would suggest him leaving the country before being tried also adds to this belief. However, there is still not direct evidence of him committing the murder so there is an issue as to accusing someone of murder and sentencing him to death with this kind of evidence, is it enough and would this be just? Moreover, the state of California considers an 8 weeks old or older fetus as a victim.
Arthur J. Shawcross, a notorious serial killer, claimed to have had a very troubled childhood. Without facts to support, he alleges that he was sexually abused by his mother until he decided to run away in the ninth grade. Later, when Shawcross served in Vietnam, he claimed, although he had never served in combat, that he had beheaded a woman. Upon discharge from the U.S. Army, he returned to Watertown, New York. Arthur Shawcross would go on to murder fourteen year old, Jack Blake and eight year old, Karen Hill in 1971 and 1972 as well as eleven women from 1988 to 1989.

China Arnold admitted to police that the baby woke her up about 2:30 am. She also told police that she was alone, besides her other children, who were asleep upstairs. There were no signs of a break-in. China Arnold was arrested for murder right away, but was soon released due to lack of evidence. In 2006 she was arrested again and stood her first trial for aggravated murder.
