The thought of night journeys is an interesting one as one would think that they would happen at night as the name would suggest. Night journeys are where a character goes on a quest to somewhere. This can lead to several different types of journeys such as heroic ones to revenge fueled ones. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling, Ocean Sea by Alessandro Baricco, In Country by Bobbie Mason, and Life of Pi by Yann Martel are all based on journeys and they have different aspects that go along with the journey.
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry has already gone on a journey in the first book and he is still on the journey in this book. Harry has to deal with the threats on the lives of the muggle borns, other

He wants to help everyone as his friends are being attacked such as Hagrid for false being accused of opening the chamber before, Hermione as she was petrified. When Ron and Harry end up in the amber, he is not expecting to have to confront Voldemort but this is what he is tasked to do. Not by anybody, but by himself as he wants to protect his friends and save Ginny. “The adventure ends here boys”(Chamber 305) this is a quote that Lockhart says to Harry and Ron as he tries to erase their memories. This is an ironic statement as he wants to end their adventure, but ends up ending his own as he lose his memories think of what would have happened if this was effective and Harry lost his memories, the rest of the journey that he is destined to take part in would have gone up in smoke
In Ocean Sea, there are several night journeys going on with a lot of different characters such as Elisewin, Adams, and Bartleboom to name a few. Each one is on a journey and the reader gets to see most of what is happening with each person. They all end up at the inn and this in a way helps all of them find their endings, the good and the bad. The sea is the main part of all of the characters
he Scarlet Pimpernel is a mystery novel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy that teaches the consequences of having too much pride as well as the fact that people wear masks to cover up who they really are. The author took human nature into account when writing this book because she made the characters realistic in the way that they have flaws. One of these common flaws that the characters shared was the fact that they all wore masks. Percy is the main character in this novel and when you read about him, you get the impression that he's pretty stupid.
The concept of journey is a thematic element often used in literature. In Three Day Road the author, Joseph Boyden, uses the motif of journey to show transformation in the three main characters. As a part of this motif a character must go on a journey and face hardships in an attempt to reach their goal. This novel follows the main character, Xavier and his time at the front line in World War 1. The point of view switches between Xavier, who tells about his time at war with his deceased friend Elijah, and Niska, Xavier’s aunt and a windigo killer, who tells about her life and Xavier’s childhood.
From coping with of loss, gaining responsibilities, and learning to accept his town and his life, Harry is able to make this transition. His journey that is not an easy one and Steven Herrick shows this by the end of his novel, by the river, that Harry is more maturity and can venture into the future more
Harry and his friends figure out that Voldemort is controlling Harry. This might change things because now Harry might feel that he might hurt people he’s close to, and will try to distance himself from them. The others might try to help him, though with no outcome. Or, he might have another reason to hate Voldemort and when he meets him, he might rage on him. Also, Harry might try to hide out to Sirius, for help or safety.
Within the painting “Ophelia” by Sir John Everett Millais, the inherent tranquility of Ophelia in the water accurately parallels Edna’s own feelings towards the motif of the sea, and the detailed elements of nature in the image exhibits the concept of a women’s inherent relationship with nature that is further perceived in “The Awakening.” Consequently, this painting best accompanies Chopin’s message in her novel, which conveys that the significant relationship between women and nature intrinsically restrains women from truly ever having freedom and independence, and therefore pushes women to continuously search for a place to have individuality. Throughout the entire novel, the sea was a representation of individuality and freedom. It was
Hagrid had to explain to him his past and when Harry learned everything he accepted it and was brave enough to go with Hagrid and begin his journey to the wizard world. This also demonstrated the theme of the supernatural. Diagon Alley shows an opening into the wizard world. He got his wand and all his other objects he needed to fully begin his journey. “Harry then did something that was both very brave and very stupid: He took a great running jump and managed to fasten his arms around the toll’s neck from behind” (176).
“Return The Traveler To The Shore.” What does henry mean by saying this some people believe he was trying to say a sailor going back to the ocean to continue his voyage. But henry meant the traveler will never return to the shore. This is not because he's moved to a different part of the shore, or because he has decided that he no longer wants to be by the shore. It is because he has died.
Journey is the act of physically or emotionally moving from one place to another for self-discovery that involves obstacles, challenges and consequences to an individual’s physical, intellectual and psychological development. They offer life-changing experiences and obstacles that motivate an individual to achieve their life goals and develop as a person at the end. The major themes of journey occurred in Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief are the power of words, relationship and experience over the arrival. Therefore, there’s no doubt that the characters are emotionally stronger at the end of the novel than they were at the beginning. Words are extremely valuable and powerful in The Book Thief as it assists a character’s intellectual development.
Have you ever swam in the ocean? Ever fought against the waves? Have you ever felt its intensity?? Oceans can be quite treacherous and rigid, but once you sink down beneath the water, all is calm and peaceful. In “The Ocean” by Nathaniel Hawthorne, he paints an image of this by illustrating the waters and the men at sea.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban truly accentuates time and clocks, which is very fitting since Book 3 will presumably be recognized as the Harry Potter book with the time travel. The manipulation of time progresses the plot and many small mysteries were solved due to time turner appearance in story. The paper studies the plot progress because of manipulating time using a time turner and plot holes that aroused due to its appearance. Data Analysis: Observing the popularity and the interest of the arrangement, one may scrutinize the clarifications for such an enormous acknowledgment. One of the conceivable responses to such an enquiry would be the mix of enchantment and reality that Rowling has made through her dialect.
As Matthew Gregory Lewis indicates, however, the ballad also differs from fairy tales in some respects, in spite of sharing a set of motifs with them. The fact that Sir Gawain has to transform a woman back contradicts the composition of the classical fairytale; even though the motif of enchantment is technically given here, it works in a slightly different manner than usual: in the well-known fairy tales the audience typically comes across transformed princes rather than princesses (cf. Haase 2: 770), such as in the originally French tale Beauty and the Beast or the Brothers Grimm's The Frog Prince; consequently, it is usually the heroine breaking these spells, as the princes can only be disenchanted by a woman, usually by means of an act of
Harry Potter’s narrative follows Campbell’s pattern. In Harry’s case, he is living with his Muggle relatives, when letters from Hogwarts arrive to notify him that he has been accepted to the wizarding school (cf. Ahmed, 2012,
