Zootopia is a movie about a rabbit named Judy Hopps who wants to become the first rabbit police officer, even though it is unorthodox and challenging for her species to become one. She is dead set on realizing her dreams, despite others’ disparaging remarks on her aspirations, and toughs through police training, rising from the bottom of her class to the valedictorian. After finishing her training, she is assigned to work at Zootopia, where Judy realizes that she is being looked down upon and underestimated because of her species. When opportunity presents itself, Judy takes the chance to solve a mystery case, as to show the rest of the police that even though she is a rabbit, she could do just as good a job as an officer as any other animal. …show more content…
An instance of this is when Judy preservers through her police training lessons. At the beginning of training, she was the worst performing cadet in the program, constantly falling behind on the obstacle courses and unable to spar with her peers in training. Despite these shortcomings, she holds on, and perseveres, training much harder than her fellow cadets. In the end, she finishes out on top, beating all the other animals at the obstacle courses and sparring, earning her the title of valedictorian. At graduation, she is assigned to the most prestigious district, Zootopia, only to be given the role of meter maid of the city. This event completely surprises the audience, as one would expect Judy’s hard work and diligence to be awarded with a respectable position as a police officer who deals with serious criminals, but rather Judy is tragically stuck with a pathetic job. This creates situational irony, as the opposite of the expected happens, which creates the tragic event that Judy must face. But, despite this setback, Judy continues to persevere, and uses an opportunity she is presented with to show the rest of the police force that she is a capable officer. For instance, when the protagonist, Harrison escapes from jail and crashes the live ballerina broadcast Vonnegut uses situational irony. Once Harrison escapes, the reader develops a conclusion that Harrison will rebel when he says, “I am the Emperor!” When Harrison and his Empress, the ballerina “shifted their weights to their toes” the reader assumes Harrison will take over and over throw Diana Moon Glampers but, the Handicap General shoots them both dead. This is situational irony because it is the exact opposite of what is anticipated. With this scene Vonnegut is implying that equality is dangerous.

Next, Montresor meet Fortunato at a carnival, eventually luring him into the catacombs of his home to bury Fortunato alive. Moreover, different types of irony are portrayed in this short story. Dramatic irony consists of the character in the story knowing less about his or her situation than the reader.

The reader notices that Grady seems to have a less than perfect relationship with his father and mother who have divorced. We as readers are also able to understand the humor that is portrayed by the author 's use of verbal irony. Verbal irony is shown through sarcasm by Grady when he tries to laugh about this rough relationship so that it is easier to deal with.

There are three specific examples of situational irony in There Will Come Soft Rains: The house continues to perform its daily tasks even though no one lives there, the house is destroyed by a tree branch that starts a fire yet it survived a nuclear fallout, and Mrs. McClellan’s favorite poem describes the situation in the story. Zootopia is a disney movie that focuses on empowering females to go for their dreams. Judy Hoops is female squirrel,who wants to become the first female cop of her kind in her community. Everyone doubts her including her parents. They feel that her dreams are too dangerous of a job for a girl, and that she is better off growing carrots for their family business. As she tries to accomplish her dreams she faces difficulties that are meant to discourage her, but fail to stop her.
