Juliet once stated about love, “It is an honor that I dream not of,” obviously wanting nothing to do with it, she was unaware that very soon she will be in a very strong relationship with Romeo. When Juliet met Paris, she was civil towards him but she did not show the passion she proposed to Romeo after laying eyes on him. Throughout the story, Juliet’s love grew and grew for Romeo, she went from wanting to stay a virgin to giving “all of her” to Romeo. Juliet developed such a rich love for Romeo, so intense, she could not bear to live without him after he committed suicide, so she pierced her own heart with her lover’s knife. Juliet Capulet, a girl who had no desire for love eventually fell head over heels for Romeo, and her love so intense,
To begin with, Romeo is all too eager to find love, and rushes to find a new pretty face. Immediately after laying eyes on Juliet, Romeo is transfixed and believes that it is true love. Later that night, he wishes to marry her, saying that he can have satisfaction with “The exchange of thy love’s faithful vow for mine” (II. 2. 127). Romeo knows nothing about Juliet, only that she is the most beautiful girl that he has ever seen. Even after his last relationship fails, Romeo does not learn.
Friar Lawrence had a strong two examples that affected the relationship between the lovers. For example, Friar Lawrence gave Juliet a potion that will fake her death but really she’s still alive she’s just got “No warmth, no breath” and that “shall testify thou livest”. (4.1.2464) When Friar Lawrence suggested that she should take this potion, in his little speech he mentions that she be close to dead to fool everyone. That even means Romeo in the most unfortunate times. When Friar Lawrence was speaking with Juliet he also planned to send letters to dear Romeo who had been staying in Mantua.
Alice Coachman Davis is the first African American woman to win a gold medal. Growing up in the south, she didn't have many opportunities to peruse what she loved. But after years of training and hard work, which involved running barefoot in the gravel, and moving from school to school across the south, she finally qualified for the Olympics in 1948, and in the end she received a gold medal in high jump. Like Alice, Shakespeare believes that when someone follows their heart’s desires, although it may not be the easiest path, its the path that will make the most sense in the end. He shows this through the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship and the relationship in between Juliet and her parents.
Juliet is responsible the tragedy within the play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare. As a thirteen year-old, Juliet is overprotected by the Capulets which leads to her love with Romeo. However, her effort to not inform the Capulets about her love nor marriage due to the feud between the two families stimulated tremendous amounts of unnecessary conflicts. Neither Paris nor Lord Capulet know about the hidden marriage as they plan for the wedding on Thursday. In Excerpt Three, Paris states, “ Now , sir, her father counts it dangerous That she do give her sorrow so much sway, And in his wisdom hastes our marriage,” (4.1.9-10).
The first connection in Act 1 of Romeo and Juliet involves Romeo in a discussion with Benvolio. Earlier that day, Romeo was out in the woods crying over his unrequited love for Rosaline. As stated with this quote, “Out of her favour, where I am in love” (1.1.173). Here, Romeo states that he is out of the favor of Rosaline, meaning Rosaline does not want Romeo. At the same time, Romeo is in love with Rosaline, thus creating his unrequited love.
The play spotlights certain character’s close bonds between each other. The Nurse and Juliet are like relatives, but they are not blood related. Since the Nurse’s daughter died at a young age, she treats Juliet as a daughter and has been with Juliet to breast feed her. The Nurse is like another mother to Juliet. Juliet has conversations with the Nurse which she would not discuss with her mother, Lady Capulet.
For our summative, Tori, Michelle and I created a dance showing the connections between Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. The two books share four main themes; love, courage, difference and abuse. Personally, I think dance is the best way to tell a story. By telling a story through movement there are so many more ways to express emotion and tell the story from a different perspective. My group members and I started the choreography finding multiple connections between the two books, such as: fights between main characters, secret relationships and fate, and started to think of movement phrases to go with these connections.
William Shakespeare wrote the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet. Within the play there are many different types of love shown. Such as Parental love which is between a parent and child, or between a parent figure and a child. There is also Romantic love which is the most used form of love in the play, where lots of feelings and emotions are shared between two people. One other form of love shown in Romeo and Juliet is unrequited love; which is when one person loves the other, but the other doesn't love them back.
Romeo and Juliet are in love because when they first saw each other it was love at first sight. There connection was amazing and they were inseparable. Romeo was still in love with another girl but when his eyes met juliet that all changed. At that point we as the audience knew that Romeo and Juliet were in love with each other. The first reason is to why they are in love is because romeo drank the poison when he thought juliet was dead.
Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play that involves death, blood, and sex. Romeo and Juliet takes place in the 1950’s in Verona. This play considered a tragedy because Romeo and Juliet are faced with an obstacle that ends up in death and sorrow for the families. Romeo and Juliet “cannot” get married. How much would you go through to find and be with your true love?Well in the story The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare these young couple did so much for each other that they died for eachother. Even though it all happened so fast, Juliet’s character developed greatly as she interacted with other characters and advanced the plot. The Maturities of Romeo and Juliet It is a controversial topic whether youth is capable of handling a mature love. Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare by 1595, epitomizes this common topic. The main characters of the play are two teenagers who fall in love at the first sight, however, the hatred between the families of the two leads to their death in the end. In the adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet in 1996, Romeo and Juliet are portrayed more mature than in that of Baz Luhrmann in 1968.
Entry 9 & Reflection I believe the main aspect theme to Romeo and Juliet is love. As you know, love comes in many different forms like passionate, physical, romantic, lost, maternal or one-sided. These types are all included in the play, demonstrated by different characters. This “one-sided and lost” love is represented by Paris, who unconditionally loves Juliet but is unaware she does not feel the same about him.
Everyone considers the story of Romeo and Juliet to be one of the best or the best love story but think about the way Romeo and Juliet meet. Both are children of families fighting with one another and they meet each other and declare love at first sight. The families try to keep them apart then they take their own lives because they can’t live without each other. Romeo and Juliet, when they first met didn't really have anything in common other than thinking they were soul mates and then suddenly they're in love. The love at first sight notion doesn't really work in real society because of on the factor, appearances can be deceiving.
