It was a normal sunny day. Samantha was abandoned by the parents at age 15. Samantha woke up knowing that she was not alone in her house. She felt this type of presence with her in her room. She gets a phone call from her friends she had met the day before.
Entry 1 The worst news I’ve ever received was when my mom told me that my aunt had cancer. Fortunately, the cancer was only at stage 1. At first, I couldn’t believe it since she has always been healthy and I’ve never heard anything about her being sick. Eventually, I came to accept the fact that my aunt had cancer even if I didn’t want to.
I’ve had numerous crucible moments in my life, but by far the most life changing was a temperate June night, when my brother threw a party. I arrived home from school at 7:00 sharp like i do every week day. I was bombarded by countless seniors setting up tents in the backyard, and clearing out furniture in the family room. Mom and Dad were on vacation which gave me a vague idea of what was beginning.
January 11, 2013, I wake up to yelling, prayers, and crying. I walked into the kitchen where all the noises were coming from and I found my mother on the floor crying, talking on the phone with my godmother. My father was there by her side, trying hard not to cry while supporting his wife. I didn’t know what was happening, this was the first time I’ve seen my mom so vulnerable and broken. My parents didn’t tell me anything other than my grandmother was in critical condition at the hospital, but with god's help she would overcome this hard time.
Sunny Daze Chapter One The Beginning One day Zoi, the goddess of life, was walking through the forest when she came to a clearing with many paths that looked the exact same as the one she had come out of. She saw some pretty flowers in the center of the clearing, and she ran to them, her beautiful red hair flowing around her neck. She bent down and, took in the wonderful aroma of the flowers.
IT WASN’T EVEN 11 A.M. BY THE TIME Seth was already in search of his car keys. He had managed to stave off the shakes and jitters by finishing the last few ounces worth of dregs that was left in the bottom of the bottle he’d purchased the previous day. The day itself was for the most part still early, however, and he wanted more than anything just to remain feeling decent, at least level, for a few more hours before life came crashing back down on him.
But it taught me the lesson that life in unpredictable, you never can know what is going to happen next. Life could change in a blink of eye. When you sit down and think about this, it makes you want to be prepared the most you can for life. The cruel actuality of the world is you never what obstacles you are going to face, despite how prepared you think you are. Knowing this, I want to prepare myself for the world the best I can.

“Tuesday of the Other June,” Bullied? “Tuesday of the Other June” by Norma Fox Mazer is a realistic fiction about a girl named June, who goes to her first day at swim class, and would start going every Tuesday. June finds out someone has the same name as her. The other June does not like the fact that they have the same name. In the beginning, June was happy, she didn 't have to be worried about many things. June also had a great and honest relationship with her mom.
The first story that explores the fear society has of certain women is “Nineteen Thirty-Seven.” In the story Nineteen Thirty-Seven, Josephine a young haitian girl, whose mother was captured and thrown in prison because she was accused of being a witch. Women are portrayed as wicked and evil. For example, “ ‘And before the women went to sleep the guards made them throw tin cups of cold water at one another so that their bodies would not be able to muster up enough heat to grow those wings made of flames, fly away in the middle of the night, slip into the slumber of innocent children and their breath.’ (Danticat 37-38)”

Faulkner 's and Toomer 's Short Stories More Similar Than They Seem In both short stories there are many similarities that are displayed throughout the story even though they are both wrote by two different authors, who are not even of the same race. William Faulkner the author of "The Evening Sun" is a white man who was raised in the south and had probably personally seen some of the instances that went on in the south on a first-hand basis.
