Pattyn Von Stratten is one of several daughters raised in a Mormon home by their abusive drunk father and distant mother. Being the oldest, Pattyn holds the role of being the primary care giver since her mother fails to do so. As a teenage girl, she is faced with many challenges, especially since her Mormon community has something to say about every move she makes. Throughout Burned, Ellen Hopkins was able to show a teenage girl’s thought process on abuse, faith, and the ability to love.
Everybody starts from somewhere. Google was started in a garage. FedEx was saved by gambling in Vegas, and Sang Ly started as a poor mother in a dump. In the novel, “The Rent Collector” by Cameron Wright, Sang Ly is a Cambodian woman below the poverty line living with her family in the dump. While in the dump Sang Ly is curious because of her interest in wanting to read, she is loving because no matter how sick her son, Nisay, gets, she is always there for him, finally Sang Ly is worrisome because the dump is a dangerous place and she just wants her family to be safe. Sang Ly thinks of herself as just a poor mother in a waste dump while everyone else in the dump sees her as an affectionate mother who loves her family. At the end of the day, Sang Ly must live day by day just trying to learn to read, trying to cure her son's chronic illness and making sure everyone makes it so sun down.
Ender has grown and changed a lot so far through the book. But here are three ways he has changed or grown.
Kublai Khan was the 5th Khagen of the Mongol Empire. He reigned from 1260 to 1294 when he died. He came into power after his brother Mongke in 1260, but fought his brother in the Toluid Civil War until 1264. This caused splitting inside of the empire, so he was mostly powerful in China and Mongolia, but had some influence elsewhere. He founded the Yuan dynasty in China in 1271, and ruled it until his death. Khubilai Khan established an administration that governed China, was supportive of agriculture, trade, and crafting, but patronizing of painting, theater, and other
The world is a big place; it is so diverse, and differences are celebrated. In that case, does it really matter that two things are alike? When in fact the differences found in the two things are the details that make them unique. Uniqueness is what makes something beautiful in this exotic world. So, there are the characters, Anansi and Iktomi, who are two uniquely different tricksters. Now, tricksters are characters that engage in deceitfulness or magic, in order to get what they want. The character Anansi is a spider from West African folklore. Meanwhile, Iktomi is half -human and half-spider, known to be a cultural hero in the Native American tribe of Lakota. Each of the cultures associated these two characters in tales called trickster tales. Anansi and Iktomi have differences; thus, they are not the same character.

Cop 223 (Qwie)- He is shameless, stupid guy who is very optimistic but also acts hopeless in the same time as in a ‘hopeless Romeo’. He is not ready to accept the isolated life, he often chats himself that shows how lonely he feels, he believes that everything comes with an expiry date so does his relationship, he buys pineapples with an expiry date of May 1 when is his birthday, so here he sets a timeline for himself to deal with the breakup, from these particular scenes we can understand his notions of romance is very cheesy and it also establishes Qwie’s hopeless romantic characteristics. He places a cosmic importance on those damn pineapple tins, a meaningless display that his ex girlfriend neither knows nor cares about that allows the polie officer to shape himself into the hero of his own personal narrative. When he finally realizes, with mere hours to go until his birthday he eats all 30 tins of expired fruit, as in he is eating away all his pain.
Rex said, “That was merely a matter of seeing how far you would all go to survive” (Bodeen 171). The Compound by Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen, demonstrates the hardships of conflict between family. In this-award winning novel, Rex’s actions leads to conflict after conflict during the duration of the novel. One event such as this was the time when he cloned new sons and daughters and planned to feed them to the older members of the family when they eventually run out of food. A second event such as this was the time when Eli confronted his father about his deception. Another, such as this was the time when Rex tried to keep the family from escaping the compound towards the end of the novel, by any means necessary, even when the family disagreed with his morals. Rex is a megalomaniac, and his society sees his ethical implications as absurd and immoral.
Taylor comes from a nontraditional family. She was raised by her mother, who worked long hours as a housekeeper to support Taylor and herself. Her father, Foster Greer, left her mother when he found out that her mother was pregnant. Her mother doesn 't mind that Foster left; in fact, she often tells Taylor that "trading Foster for [you] was the best deal this side of the Jackson Purchase." As Taylor matures and is exposed to horrible things that fathers can say and do to children, she feels quite lucky to have grown up without a father. The resiliency of Taylor 's mother and her commitment to Taylor, as well as her indifferent attitude toward men, represent Kingsolver 's feminist

How are you doing and how is your family. My honest opinion is that Kavita has progressively gotten worse in terms of her attitude.
Today I will be talking about Noshen’s grandfather Mishomis’s characteristics in the story “The Great Eagle”. Here is proof as to why I think Mishomis is wise, strong and proud. One of Mishomis’s many characteristics is that he is wise. This characteristic is evident on page 26, when Noshen is talking about his grandfather he says, “Grandfather is wise and knows many things”. From this evidence we can tell Noshen thinks his grandfather is wise. Another characteristic of Mishomis is that he is strong. This is clearly stated on page 27, when Noshen says, “it is not easy keeping up with his strong silent strides”. This is also obvious on page 31, when Noshen is describing his grandfather “I feel grandfather’s warm strong hands holding my shoulders
How fortunate I am, that is how I view myself. No matter what others think, I know that I am blessed. I know that even people judging me upon my appearance is nothing as atrocious as our history against the African Americans. It is nothing in comparison.

With this money, Lung can buy other necessities, such as fabric for clothing. As time goes on, the earth continues to produce abundant amounts of crops, leading to Lung’s growth in wealth. Just like the earth, O-lan continually provided for the family. She does all of the cooking and cleaning in the house, even when severely ill. She goes above what is
Helmuth had three main traits that led to his execution. He was unafraid, smart, and reckless. His constant lust for the truth and his ability to spread it continually prompted him to do reckless, and usually illegal things. He was smart when he used tactics in the court to get the blame mostly on him, thus saving his friends. This showed he was loyal to his friends and unafraid of death. He was very smart when taking precautions against the Nazis. Unfortunately in the end it meant his execution.
