Simmons picked up the gifts and then drove home to wait out the weekend. On Monday, December 28th, 1987 Simmons drove to Walmart in a car that had once belonged to his son, so that he could purchase a second gun. After he purchased the second gun he proceeded in killing his old coworkers, bosses, and acquaintances, or whom he referred to as “everyone who wanted to hurt me”, he then turned himself over to the Russellville police after they arrived. Simmons was then sent to the “Arkansas State Hospital” in Little Rock where he was given a competency evaluation by the staff psychiatrist Dr. Irving Kuo. Kuo stated that Simmons was sane and capable of standing trial.
According to the testimonies heard at trial, “the constant fear of death and the trauma of several devastating incidents took a heavy toll on morale” (Mosher, 2006, p. A13). The testimonies also revealed that the soldiers had been consuming alcohol prior to committing the crime. Furthermore, it was determined that Steven Green was the “ringleader” in the attack and that he was the one who had allegedly shot and killed the girl and her family. After the incident had occurred, Green was discharged from the Army because he was found to have a personality disorder. In addition, a trial witness who met Green in Iraq claimed that he had expressed “lack of concern or caring for Iraqi life versus American soldiers’ life” (Mosher, 2006, p. A13).
The police did not immediately identify the groups as outlaws, but rather, a bunch of wild, alcohol-fueled individuals who were causing trouble in their vicinity. Add to that, Clyde accidentally discharged a Browning Automatic Rifle. It triggered suspicions and the neighbors informed the Joplin Police District. The five-man team of policemen confronted the group on April 13 and Clyde killed Detective McGinnis and wounded the constable. They flew from the scene but left a trail of personal belongings behind them, including rolls of undeveloped films.
Tell-Tale Heart is about a man who was crazy and he killed an old man because of his evil eye. Then he shows the police where he hid the old man’s body. I strongly believe that Tell-Tale Heart is not appropriate for middle schoolers because it tells you about killing people and hiding the evidence. Tell-Tale Heart shouldn’t be read in middle school because it teaches us how to murder people. On page 93 its talks about him replacing the floor boards so cleverly from the police but he then confesses that he killed the old man and put him under the floorboards. The Narrator was a madman- well some call him that- and I call him a madman because he watched the old man take naps and watched him
Should attorneys use a confession from a client use that confession to free the wrongly convicted person from prison? According to court documents on January 11, 1982 a security guard for McDonalds in Chicago, Ill by the name of Lloyd Wyckliffe was killed; later police arrested Alton Logan after acting on a tip that he was the shooter (People v. Logan, 1991). Alton was convicted of murder by a jury and sentenced to life in prison. However, Alton was innocent and only three people knew of his innocence of murdering the security guard. The first person was the one who did the killing his name was Andrew Wilson.
While Carl Lee was at home after he killed two men who raped his daughter, the sheriff came and took him to the prison for the murder of these two men. The city became divided between those who think that he should be killed because he is a murderer that belongs to the black people, and the others believe that Carl Lee should not be imprisoned on what he did because they deserved it. They have raped a little black girl which have become a case of racism murder. This issue of racism had led to an increase in racism between the black and white people who are presented by the (KKK). Actually they have caused this racism as well.
Back down? They’re so wrapped up in a different culture – what I’m trying to say is – they’re in the wrong culture; the culture that promotes killing an officer. Young people use the legacy of racism as an excuse, it’s not a race issue at all. The fact is the brute attacked me, I couldn’t get my taser so I shot him and I had to keep shooting or else I would
In a previous scene that same police officer pulls over the same women and molests her on the side of the road in front of her husband pretending to pat her down for anything harmful she may have. This shows that a person has the ability to change. In addition, I also felt emotionally attached to the movie when the Persian man takes his gun and attempts to kill the Mexican person who came in to fix the Persian man’s store lock because he believed that the Mexican man cheated him. The Persian man determines where the Mexican man lived and goes there to kill the Mexican man. When the Persian man fires a shot the Mexican persons daughter jumps in to hug her father.
Gun Control In the world today gun violence has skyrocketed. From tragic massacres like the one in Sandy Hook, and the shooting at the movie theater in Colorado to gun violence used my many cops in the shooting deaths of many unarmed men. Many innocent people are dying because of the obliviousness that America has to this issue. There needs to be stronger gun control throughout the United States, because the U.S. has weak gun laws, the background checks are ineffective, and too many mentally ill people are getting a hold of guns. America has weak gun laws and needs to follow in the footsteps of other countries by making harsher gun laws.
