When I tell people I do Karate they always think that it is about beating people up. However, when one takes a closer look into what Karate actually is one realizes that it is so much more than that. One can apply things one learns in Karate like self-discipline, perseverance, and focus to anything in one's life. When one does so, one sees just how much concepts learned in Karate helps one with things far beyond defending one's self and how it can help one achieve greatness in all aspects of life.
When one looks at what Karate is actually about instead of the common misconception that Karate is all about violence this fact appears obvious, but most do what they do with most things in this respect, which is being negligent, listening to what others tell him or her, and occupying the time that could be spent researching and experiencing things wasting time playing video games or watching simpleminded videos of felines playing piano. Unfortunately, this reason is also why many have this mindset, even though Karate is really so much more than this.

Self-discipline helps me with this because instead of wasting my time with something meaningless, I budget my time between my homework for all my classes and can exceptionally complete everything I need to for school. Focus helps me with this because when one is on the computer, there are a great deal of distractions. Focus lets me ignore these wastes of time and concentrate on my assignment, instead of watching videos of pigeons play ping-pong. As a result of doing these simple things, I complete assignments on time, never freak out about tests, and earn stellar

When I was about 6 years old my father introduced me to boxing. rather than explain to me what boxing was, he took me to a boxing match. The room we were in was filled with hundreds of people, and in the center of it all was a square ring. Although I could barely see from where I was, I could see what appeared to be two grown men fighting each other. Growing up, fighting was nothing that I wasn’t use to, for I did so with my brother.
When I looked up to my instructors and leadership with their black belts tied around their waist, I thought they were the coolest people ever, and of course they are however I thought that all black belts would be martial arts masters just like in the Bruce Lee movies I'd watch. Being a black belt for just over a year now, I realized having a black belt doesn't necessarily mean being a martial arts master going out and fighting crime, but being a black belt teaches you so much more than kicking and punching. In this essay I will say how being a black belt has affected my life, and what I've learned since my test. First of all,
If you get kicked or punched right in the right spot on your head you could get a major concussion or in a worse case, killed. I would consider MMA to people who fight a lot in school. People who fight a lot in school most likely will become a MMA fighter. Such as Anderson Silva in 3rd grade he broke a kid 's nose for calling him a girl. Here is some advice for MMA “it’s not about hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and get back up.”

His father promoted Judo to improve Carl’s exercise level and self-defence skills. Although Judo improved Carl’s exercise level, it also proved to be more than a sport, providing Carl with many beneficial life skills such as discipline, confidence and a
Taekwondo vs. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu As I stepped onto the mat for the first time, martial arts ran in my blood. I was raised to never allow anyone to take advantage of me. Always standing my ground, I was headstrong since I grew up with a brother who always picked on me.

How could someone achieve this level greatness? How could one learn to strike with the force of a mighty lion and have the speed of a cunning snake? What exactly does it take to be an amazing martial artist? Why do people pursue martial arts and what benefits are gained? To had better understand these questions, I will be examining the martial art of Muay Thai.
One of Chibana’s biggest contributions to karate lies in the Shorin-ryu style, of which he is considered to be the founder. Shorin-ryu branched out of Shuri-te, one of the three styles alongside Naha-te and Tomari te. Each of these styles had been named for the region that they had grown out of. Shorin-ryu was also known as Kobayashi ryu, the name of which had been chosen by Chibana. The name connected Shorin-ryu to the Shaolin style of martial arts practiced by monks in China, one of the possible influences for Okinawan karate.
Gymnastics is a sport involving the performance of exercises requiring strength, flexibility, balance, agility, patience and control. Gymnastics evolved from exercises used by the ancient Greeks that included skills for mounting and dismounting a horse, and from circus performance skills. Sometimes, the most talented gymnast gets lazy and will not achieve as great a success because their heart just isn’t in it. With all the top level gymnasts being almost equally talented, it is the one who desires the win the most that will walk away with the gold. The last quality for a successful gymnast is enjoyment of the sport.

Time management: Time management is a very crucial component if you are willing to have a productive lifestyle. To be honest, I have always had issues with managing my time efficiently.
