Language Language characterizes the aggregate history of a community of people, their national identity, and the social lifestyle. A great Kazakh poet-warrior, Baurzhan Momyshuly, expressed his attitude to the state language with these words: “The loss of our native language equals the loss of history, ancestors and culture”. The Republic of Kazakhstan is a multilingual society with more than hundred thirty ethnic groups. In spite of this great range of ethnicities, the most widespread languages are the Kazakh state language and the Russian. My country is symbolized by the complexity and originality of the language. Probably, they think in such way, because, for seventy years, , Kazakhstan was a part of the USSR. The Kazakh language in the Soviet era was in a very critical position. For instance, education, official writing, and employment required a fundamental knowledge of the Russian language. As for education, most schools used Russian. Kazakh schools were marginalized, therefore the Kazakh language was used only in the rural localities. There was a diffusion between Kazakh and Russian culture. Moreover, in the 1960s, Kazakhs made up only 30 percent of the population(Taras 2002, 257-258). The majority was Russian, and it is obvious that the majority spoke in Russian, nevertheless, in 1991, Kazakhstan gained its independence and Kazakhs had the opportunity to expand the use of their national language to all fields. Due to the adoption of the new constitution, laws about the Kazakh language aided its expansion. According to the constitution, Kazakh is the official, state language. The youth gained the right to receive education in Kazakh. The Kazakh language is developing now, the usage of it expands in all areas. The evidence of this fact is the appearance of the Kazakh language in kindergartens, schools, colleges and universities(Dave 1996, 8). At the moment, there are 3843 schools, 1089 kindergartens, 180 universities, which teach the Kazakh language. This amount is not going to stop growing(Central Communication Services
