Harriett Tubman is a very big figure in American history. She freed many slaves through the underground railroad, she also served as a spy in the Civil war. She also was a nurse during the Civil war. The Civil war is what freed all slaves in the Confederate states. Harriet Tubman also did many bad things. I believe, Harriet Tubman should not be on the twenty dollar bill.Harriet Tubman as people know is a very huge figure, but you don't know her very well. Taking Jackson off the twenty dollar bill and then replacing him with Harriet Tubman would show our nation that owning slaves and killing people is bad. According to others we need someone better on the twenty dollar bill. In the end, other viewpoints believe that Harriet Tubman should be on the twenty dollar bill. Even though Harriet Tubman is a good representative, Andrew Jackson is much better. Andrew Jackson was our seventh president and he did many good things along with many bad things. The good things he's done was, lead the colonies to a victory against the British in New Orleans, he paid off our national debt, and he made more allies globally. Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln were two of the most famous people who made a great change for the U.S., but in their time, people thought they were doing nonsense. Even though people didn’t know who Harriet Tubman was, they knew her as a man named Moses who stole slaves out of their “homes”. Some people thought that Lincoln shouldn’t’ve been president because of how he was and how he acted during his presidency. These two famous figures had their difficulties, but at least they shared some similarities.
Now, Harriet Tubman was not the wealthiest person, but she made sure to have enough to care for the people around her. At one point she would care for, “...six to eight people…”, not including herself or her husband. (Document E). Instead of kicking them out, she would invite them to her personal residency and make sure that they were treated right and, with the help of her husband, make sure that they had everything they needed. Although this is a notable achievement, it is not her greatest achievement because she never really put her life on the line for these people and was not in much danger.

Most modern-day individuals know her for conducting the Underground Railroad and helping hundreds of enslaved people escape from their captors. She went on several perilous journeys to southern plantations despite the heavy reward sum that plantation owners eventually placed on her head. Her courage and readiness to risk her own capture allowed many to live better lives in the North.
