In the story Kick, the authors use conflict to teach that friendship can get you into trouble and out of trouble. For example, when Kevin says, “I thought about Christy…The cop that had arrested me thought she was just too scared to talk, but I knew there were things that were just too hard to say.” This quote shows how Kevin got into trouble because of a secret that only he and his friend, Christy, knew.
