“Hey dude, do you know what happened to that kid Waldo?”, my friend asked me. Waldo was a very odd kid, he transferred to my school in April of my eighth grade year. He had the same exact schedule as me, like exactly, all six classes and the same lunch period. He also had a locker directly next to mine, which was odd because the lockers were assigned in alphabetical order by last name, and I never once figured out his last name. But perhaps the strangest thing about him, was his appearance. He looked identical to the cartoon character from the “Where’s Waldo” books. He dressed just like him to. We played video games and watched movies until midnight, when we went to sleep. He slept downstairs on the couch by himself. When I awoke in the morning and went downstairs, he was gone. I looked around to see if he was somewhere around the house or outside, and then I made sure that nothing was stolen from my house. The search resulted in no Waldo, and one of my dogs was missing. I was freaking out at that moment, I was just baffled at why this kid would steal one of my dogs. But then I heard a scratching noise coming from the door leading to the basement, and realized that I must have accidentally locked the dog in the basement when I went down there to look for Waldo. Sorry, Zoey. With a sense of relief that I didn’t have to explain to my mom that Waldo had stolen a dog from us, I seriously started to wonder where he had gone. But then I noticed a piece of paper on the counter. It read, “Nate, thank you for your hospitality. I apologize for leaving so abruptly. By the time you read this, I will be on a plane back home to the United Kingdom. I will call you when I arrive to explain this all to you. Thanks again, Waldo”. That had to be the most confusing moment of my life. I had so many questions for him, questions that would never get answered. To this day, I still haven’t heard from Waldo, no one has. His house has been empty since that day he departed to his homeland. So where is he now one might ask, well the only one with an answer to that question is Waldo
