Kim Jong Un is just as amazing as his father. Kim Jong Un is a God-like figure. Kim Jong Un is our saviour. These were the words that orbited around the streets and cities throughout my childhood. Father too, greatly acknowledged Kim Jong Il and his son, Kim Jong Un, and tried to repay them in every possible way. Ever since I was young, I was told that without them, we would’ve died on the streets. I was told that the Kim family gave us this luxurious life, providing us with shelter, food, a farm and happiness. We were happy for a while. *** I roused to my father's call and with panic, I immediately positioned myself upright from the floorboards with my weak aching back. How could I have overslept on such an important day, I angrily thought to myself. Today marks the important date of every North Korean household. Today, an annual ceremony is held in Pyongyang, and even though I slept in, President Kim Jong Un will surely forgive me, right? I reassured myself. As my legs got out of comfort and were exposed to the harsh breeze, Father came rushing in screaming. My eyes couldn't help but draw attention to the figure standing in front of me. You people are being brainwashed by Kim Jong Un. He's hiding everything from you. I too, was once like you and looked up to him. Have you ever wondered what freedom feels like? Have you ever wondered what the outside world is? Imagine the world without starvation. Imagine the world without executions for doing the right thing. This is the reality that other countries are living in, but look at us, we are nothing but a herd of brainwashed sheep. Escape from North Korea! Use every opportunity you can. Don't live in this cruel world. Don't be deceived by them. Freedom is waiting for you
