Mike McIntyre decided to hitchhike across the the continental United States. He went from California to North Carolina without any money. He chose to set out on this journey because he had become upset with his current circumstances. He was unsatisfied because of the general characters and cultural traits surrounding him. He began to question if all of the US shared the same cold attitudes that people did in his area. He wanted to know if a one in America was still kindhearted and caring. He wanted to know if his country was still a place of sympathetic and good spirited people, he wanted to discover what the true mentality of the American people was. I think that one of the most important traits of a kind person is honesty. Honesty is the …show more content…
Most folks use a shared passion, ability or experience. Many people in the book picked up mike because either they hitch hiked or somebody they knew did. Others still picked up mike because he looked nice and shaved. People like this because they can relate to a clean-cut person, they don 't understand unkept people, they share hygiene at least. A kind person has to help people on a personal level. Many churches and shelters help people but is the people in tenses churches and shelters doing the good deeds that is the true kindness. When people receive help from a large group or organization it will be appreciated but is often received with cold feelings because of the lack of personal involvement. People like the personal touch that gifts often involve and it is an essential part of a kind persons character. It is a similar trade to sympathy and being relateable but I think friendliness takes it a step farther by relating and being sympathetic on a personal level not just to people in
I found his passage the most surprising due to his being "both the most American and the least American of the revolutionary leaders (p.68). " It seems shocking that someone who is known as one of the very founders of our nation was actually very much a loyalist to his British roots much of the time and already world-renowned for his accomplishments in science philosophy. It was only because of his miscalculations during the imperial crisis, where his good intentions actually worked against him and brought him disgrace with the British, that he did a total turn around and became all in where America was concerned. It's interesting to think that had his intentions been interpreted as he had intended, he may very well have not become a founding father or our nation's great diplomat at
He was eager to promote democracy and world peace and unwilling to use force. He, as much as possible, maintained strong belief in neutrality. But many of his attempts to encourage democracy and peace, especially in European and Latin American affairs, which backfired. He preferred to abandon the idea of an imperialist policy and although he believed the U.S. was politically enlightened nation under God, he felt all the world had right to self-determination.
He thinks that if we can understand what others believe in and what others feel than we have a greater possibility of unity. With conversation and dialogue we can clarify our disagreements and make a clear standpoint on where we stand with our ideas. When we exchange ideas and disagree we move toward a common ground, which then enhances the American

In this statement, he addresses his wife to deliver relatable speech. He then expands his viewpoint to all Americans. By delivering the speech in this way, he shows himself as a person that can empathize and relate to his fellow man. After this, the speech’s
My entire life has changed due to my kindness. Therefore, should I no longer be kind? Why offer my assistance to others if the outcome is penalization? These questions torment my mind; do I acknowledge what's happening around me, or should I just drive by? All I wanted to do was help people, and now, all I do is suffer.
They wanted to live in a great country, and he promised that. When dealing with other individuals, he had a firm but gentle approach. The way he carried himself made him seem trustworthy. His life before his presidency as a lifeguard and actor gave him confidence that the people could see. They did not doubt his abilities.

He believes that he should fight for his country and for the people. He also likes to prove his point and get the trust form the people in the fight for liberty. “ no man thinks more highly than i do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the house” which he is sharing with his people. He is sharing with them his morals on establishing his goal for the
He believes that being a part of Britain is holding America back from going forward to the future, so he stresses the importance of fighting for what they believe in, which is to lead themselves. He wants to be known as the man who helps his country on the right path and a year later, he does just that, where the beliefs in self-government lead them to the now self-ruled United States of
Expanding kindness to all things is the trickiest part. But it can be done. Saunders mentions the most respectable names in history as an example of kindness like Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Shakespeare. Kindness is what saves each of us. Each of us can recall the random act of kindness that was done to each of us.
The word “help” is a very complicated yet simple word. According to the Learner’s Dictionary, the definition of help is: to do something that makes it easier for someone to do a job, to deal with a problem, to aid or assist someone. Helping someone sounds like an easy job, and most of us would agree that we would help people anytime anywhere, but it always doesn’t turn out that way. Scientists have spent a considerable amount of time studying the helpfulness behavior of several types of people.
