The Incident
On May 20, 1998 Kip Kinkel got expelled from school for bringing a handgun on campus reported KVAL (Jennifer Winters). Kinkel was afraid of what his father, Bill Kinkel might say because kids at school were bullying him. On May 21, 1998 Kinkel killed his parents Bill and Faith Kinkel. Then the next day driving his mother’s car to Thurston High School, where he would enter the building wearing a trench coat filled with two guns, a rifle, a knife and more than 1,200 rounds of ammunition. Kinkel then opened fire in a cafeteria filled with over 200 students. Kinkel killed 4 people during this rampage and injured more than two dozen before a young student tackled Kinkel from behind. She was a Spanish teacher at the local high school. She loved her family and students. Her daughter Kristen Kinkel describes her as a people pleaser and full of life. The second victim was the suspect’s father, William Kinkel known as Bill he also was a Spanish teacher who taught part-time at the local community college. “My parents were so full of life; stated Kristen Kinkel. The Kinkel’s will always be remembered for the unwavering encouragement for their students reported (Mark Friesen). The third victim was Mikael Nickolauson he grew up on the same block as his best friend Joshua Pearson they often visited each other’s house. The fourth victim is Ben Walker another student from Thurston High School. There were several other victims, but they are still here to share their stories. The suspect is 15-year-old Kip Kinkel he was an average student who started causing trouble when he entered the seventh grade. His mother made him attend several psychiatrist visits because he always talked about acts of violence he would like to commit, he also talked about joining the army just so he could kill someone. Danny was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 26th 1954. His dad James was abusive from the start of his birth. His father was also a police officer. His father also abused his mom Claudia and brother Kevin.
Jeffrey Dahmer Born the 21st of May, in the year 1960, Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was a serial killer, nortorious for the murders of mainly African American males. Jeffrey’s childhood wasn’t great, and to some it was believed it influenced his adult life. His family moved to Ohio when Jeffery was six years old. Jeffery claimed that one of his neighbors molested him when he was just eight years old. Not to long after their move to Ohio, Jeffery’s parents got a divorce.
Columbine High School can forever be associated with the massacre that took place April 20, 1999. Dave Cullen, author of Columbine, captures the heart wrenching and cruel events that unfolded that April through his analysis of the normalities within the day and specific dialogue. Using many rhetorical devices, Cullen develops an agonizing emotion behind the terrible truth; it can happen anywhere. While spreading the terrible truth, he manages to also spread light on the events of April 20 in order to debunk bullying motives and help all people understand the idea of psychopaths.
Five of the six shooters experienced peer rejection. Woodham had been teased and called chubby by peers numerous times. He stated, “I killed because people like me get mistreated every day.” Carneal was also a victim of malicious teasing by peers. He was called a “dweeb” and “faggot” as well as had been called “gay” in the student newspaper.
“I know that I am a destroyer of the most precious thing, which is life”. This quote was from Patricia Krenwinkel. Patricia Krenwinkel had an important role in the Manson trials because she stabbed Abigail Folger countless of times and then later on she stabbed Rosemary LaBianca with a carving fork to death. She was found guilty of murder and they gave her the death sentenced, but the judge overruled it so she got life in prison. It has been 46 years since the murder of the Manson family.
Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were the two people responsible for the Columbine shootings. Eric Harris was born on April 9th, 1981 and Dylan Klebold September 11, 1981. They both passed away on April 20th, 1999 at 12:08PM by gunshots to the head. Eric Harris has had a history of being bullied and antagonized for his personality and the way he dressed. While both the kids seemed like good students, Harris and Klebold both had a darker history.
The vice principal of Waianae High School, Mr.M.Kurose was found dead on campus by a psychotic teacher within the school. The four people suspected of murdering Kurose are Mr.Hidano, Ms.Hoppe , Ms.Megahan, and Mrs.Shimoda. The culprit of the homicide was no other than Drake Hidano. He has been found to be a psychopath. He was also proven to be a liar.

After watching the documentary on Kip Kinkel, I came to the conclusion that they were many factors that contribute to Kip’s mental illness and the tragedy that took place at Thurston High School. The first factor that I think contribute to Kip’s mental illness was the way that Kip’s parents raised him and his sister. According to the video, Kip’s parents always thought that both of their children were going to succeed. Yet, they were always comparing both siblings at different tasks, and in my opinion, I think that is what made Kip feel like he was never good enough in compare to his sister. One perfect example is found in one of the family videos, were we are able to see how Kip’s dad encourages Kristin to do here cartwheels and hand stands.
They found out that the shooters were Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Eric Harris was 18. Dylan Klebold was 17. These two boys were bullied all the time by most of the school. Also they were the social outcast of the school.
He killed two students and wounded a third before shooting his algebra teacher in the back. Three years later, April of 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold launched their infamous attack on Columbine High, Colorado, the slaughtering had continued. Threw the thirty-two killed and seventeen wounded by Seung- Hui Cho in Virginia Tech in 2007. What Gladwell has believed that “school shootings mostly involve young white men”, they were scattered instances of gunmen or bombers that has attacked schools in the years before Barry Loukaitis but had been lower profile.
He killed his roommates by stabbing them multiple times. Then Elliot went to the streets killing 3 more people with a gun, Katherine Cooper age 22, Christopher Michaels-Martinez, age 20 and Veronika Weiss age 19. He wounded 14 other campus
The events that happened at Columbine High School were tragic. The columbine shooting would go down as the worst school shooting in American history. Thirteen people dead, twenty-four more people injured, on the dreadful afternoon of Tuesday, April 20, 1999 (Cullen, 2010). Parents in the time period never thought that anything like the shooting that happened at Columbine
On April 20, 1999, two disturbed teenage boys Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris began a killing rampage at Columbine High School in the suburban town of Littleton, Colorado. This was considered one of the worst school shootings to occur at that time. In the morning of April 20, before noon, the two juveniles had killed 13 people to include 12 students and 1 teacher; they also wounded another 23 people before turning the guns on themselves.
