Most of Australia 's population lives close to the coastline and the beach has long occupied a special place in the Australian identity. The Australian coastline is where three of the world 's great oceans meet: the Pacific, Indian and Southern oceans. The beach is also a place where people from all over the world meet, mix and live.
The coastline of the Australian mainland stretches more than 30,000 km. With the addition of all the coastal islands this amounts to more than 47,000 km. The coastal landscape ranges from broad sandy beaches to rocky cliffs and mangrove swamps.

Area of Palm beach were much larger than Kirra beach almost double.
Season, weather condition and time of day¬ – different conditions Time was a constant restraint, as the field study was only for a day so it was hard to collect all the data in that day.
Area of the Kirra beach were smaller that Palm beach by double.

- It doesn’t look great on the beach and is not the best looking wall. -Deposits sand into the beach.
- Doesn’t look very good on the beach
- It prevents much sand in going to the northern beaches. - Looks great on the beach
-stops erosion
-makes the waves smaller which is a bad thing for surfers.
Economic criteria -Affordable opinion still very expansive but cheaper to build the walls then the damage it could course without the wall. - Affordable with low maintains - Reefs would course more fishes to live on the beach which boosts the economy and is also affordable.
Environment -Makes the beach look unnatural and more artificial. -Also makes the beach unnatural. - Increase in more marine life.

Recommendation:
The boulder walls, groynes and the artificial reefs are all very efficient but by comparing the three you could see which one is most suited in all social, economic and environment aspect. The boulder walls and groynes are unattractive and make the beach unnatural but on the other hand the artificial reef appeals great and fits in with the beach. The artificial reef is very effective due to no trouble in all three
Collaroy-Narrabeen beach is a beach located on Sydney’s coast and is managed by the Warringah council and is Sydney’s 2nd longest beach at 3.6km. The beach is the most vulnerable beach to erosion from coastal zones in Warringah and comes in at 3rd place in being the most at risk area from coastal processes in Australia. Warringah council however has put in a range of measures to lessen coastal
Cool, calm crashing waves along the coast of the Great Lakes is an timeless picture many generations have enjoyed. The Great Lakes have the same beautiful views as it does in years past. However, the inside of the lakes have completely changed. It’s no longer the same lake your grandfather knows nor will it be the same lake for your grandchildren.
Southwest Florida is the coastal region in the Florida state. It contains many metropolitan areas and is quite populated when compared with other parts of the country. The whole area is governed by the exposure to the coast and all the life elements therefore depend on this huge water body. The pests that are found in the area are also much related to the presence of water bodies and some pests near beaches can truly present a hazard to home owners who like to live close to the coast.
The only problem with this wall, was that if it was worth the money and the lives that were lost for the possible benefits that would come. From various documents, it showed that the cost of building the wall, does outweigh the benefits of it. Document C shows that the Han had paid tribute to the Xiongnu Mongols to stop them from raiding China, but it happened anyways. Also, Document E shows the amount of harsh conditions and people who were laid to work for this wall.
Even though the wall was easy to get through, it was still partially effective as a defense, but all of its effectiveness was lost if there were no guards on the wall (Turnbull 2007, 36). These guards were expensive, and villages had to be set up in order to support them with food and a place to live; the villages became a vital part of the Great Wall (Turnbull 2007, 11). The Great Wall also required constant maintenance or else it would crumble and fall; this required a long-term commitment and drained a lot of resources (Turnbull 2007, 10). The wall required lots of work, but it still remained ineffective.
It was built to protect the country from invaders. Emperor Shi Huangdi demanded to have this wall build to also keep out their biggest enemies, the rebel groups These rebel groups were also known as the Mongols. Second, the Great Wall had amazing access to materials. The Great Wall was made of stone, brick, and a mix of other materials from the Earth.
I will also list some facts about the Great Wall of China to prove that it was not worth it. I think that the Great Wall was not worth it because a lot of people died or starved to death. They also lost a lot of time in their life trying to build the wall. One thing that proves it's not worth it is that they didn't get paid anything for building the wall.
With that being said the wall also has its downsides. One of the biggest problems with the wall is how much it would cost to build. Also the amount of land the wall would take up, this may beckon an unwanted burden on landowners. The main problem of the wall is that it would signal just the opposite if the Statue of
First, it was obvious to the creators of the wall, the communist East German government, that there was something strange going on when the people of East Berlin would suddenly go missing. Then they figured it out, they were fleeing to a part of the country that was not governed by communist rules, West Berlin. So, they wanted to find a way to keep their people where they could control them, and so they build the Berlin Wall to totally surround West Berlin (BBC Writers). They began construction on the wall on the night of August 12, 1961. While doing so, they hoped to stop, or more accurately to scare away, the people planning on feeling to West Berlin.
Australian land has undergone many natural disasters varying from floods to cyclones.
Secondly, the wall in theory will be significantly more expensive. Since it won’t be a fence, it will be an actual concrete wall. The government will need money for building new roads, paying employees, and supplies according to experts that will cost at least 25 billion dollars.(Lopez) Then comes the cost of maintaining the wall after it is built, that will overlap the cost of building it in less than seven
1.0 Introduction 1.1 Purpose The purpose of this report is to investigate the impacts of urban development on biodiversity at stumers creek dog beach. This report will include data collected from the creek including; water samples, soil samples and animal and excrement surveys in order to determine the health of the environment. 1.2 Location Stumers Creek is located in Coolum Beach, on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. The sub catchment of Stumers Creek covers an area of 13km2.
Even the fences can cause so many problems. What about the huge wall that is much bigger and thicker than the fences? Approximately,
It is located in Sydney CBD, about 1.7km SW from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A 2016 census revealed the population to be 12,813 people. In the past, this number has been higher, like in 1900, where the population exceeded 30,000 people. The area was previously a booming sandstone quarry due to its abundance of white sandstone. It was also used as an industrial port, allowing for goods to be brought in from overseas and from other harbours.
Hard construction techniques can be seen as a traditional response to erosion that involves the construction of structures which defend against the erosive power of waves by stopping wave energy reaching the shore, or absorb and reflect that energy. However, this approach causes problems, whereby theses techniques tend to increase erosion in other places further down the coast, and thereby resulted in soft construction techniques becoming more popular because of this. On the other hand, soft construction techniques involves stimulating natural systems such as beaches and salt marshes which in turn protect the coast, and are relatively cheaper to construct and maintain than hard construction techniques, and at the same time be self-sustaining.
