My personal experience with following my conscience was whether I should quit playing club basketball or if I should continue to play club basketball and become more advance in basketball. It was around october 18th, 2014. I was 14 years old, whenever I made my decision to quit, my mother was the person I made my decision with. The following sunday my mother and me went up to kirkwood, where the club organization was located and told the coach why I didn’t want to continue playing. The coach understood why I didn’t want to continue playing and told me he’ll always have a spot on his team for me if I ever wanted to come back and play for him.
However, the other part was pushing me to stay and rejoice the pride I had just acquired from my recent and unusual discovery named John “the Savage”. I could not predict when my glory days would be over just in the blink of an eye. I certainly ignore how much time I have left to feel secure in the World State, but part of me wants an end. I feel trapped, unable to create my path. My mind keeps trying to dictate my mouth to express a voice that demands an adjustment, a modification, in other words, something else, something different.
All the six games, at least scoring one basket, we got to the finals. Fourth quarter of the final game came. Our team was losing by two and there were around fourteen seconds remaining. I don’t know what the coach thought of but he decided to put me in when he had so many other options. The coach told me to stay in the three point line in order to shoot if I can.
I wore my favorite Rajon Rondo shirt, my velcro shoes, and an unwavering smile. That was the night I realized basketball was my passion. But, many season have come and gone and my years of playing draw fewer and fewer. Looking back, I think of all the things I could’ve done differently to just earn a few more years to play. If I just practiced harder that day or played better that tryout or that game.
Houston Rockets (53-14) Current Seed: 1 Per usual, head coach Mike D’Antoni’s offense has the Houston Rockets in first place and rolling through the regular season. However, the question remains if D’Antoni’s system can prove sustainable over the course of several long and grueling Western Conference playoff series. Luckily for Rockets fans, they have a second future Hall of Famer in Chris Paul to pair with current MVP favorite James Harden this time around, as they try to dethrone the Golden State Warriors and claim Western Conference superiority. Predicted Playoff Seed: 1 Golden State Warriors (52-16) Current Seed: 2 With Steph Curry nursing a tweak to his oft-injured right ankle, subsequent reports that fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson could
When my favorite basketball team, the Boston Celtics, played in their season opening game on October 17th, I would not have dreamt that I would be leaving the room in tears after having flashbacks of the biggest setback in my lifetime. Celtics player Gordon Hayward suffered a serious leg injury early in the game. While many people were disappointed that one of the Celtics’ best players was injured, I sympathized for Gordon because I truly understood what he was going through. The biggest setback of my life came on September 1, 2015, just before my sophomore year of high school. It was a humid morning in Lawrence, Massachusetts as our second football scrimmage of the year was set to begin.
109 Days Before: Colonel and Pudge attend the first basketball game, where Kevin, one of the weekday warriors offers them a truce. At the start of the movie Gerry Bertier despised the different skinned people, he didn’t even talk to them or look at them, when they were about to board the bus, Gerry went up to coach Boone with ray behind him and was telling him that he was going to play the position that he wanted to play, and was also telling him how to run the team. This part of the movie is important because it shows how Gerry thought about Coach Boone. His attitude started to change when they were halfway through their camp training when peedee got tackled and then they started pushing each (not in an aggressive way) other saying left side, strong side, left side, strong side. This was an important part of the movie because it shows that they were finally getting along and their relationship was just starting. Because of Gerry and Julius bonding the whole team came together because Julius was the leader of the black people and
The dynamics of a game of basketball very well correspond with the adversities I faced, hurdles I overcame and achievements I made in life. On my first experience as a professional player, with the entire stadium packed with players, coaches and basketball lovers I became extremely nervous and missed a couple of shots. The shots I missed cost my team dear and made me so apprehensive that I could not even attempt another basket. However nebulous it might seem but it was this and many such experiences that played a vital role in making me the individual that I am. Playing basketball for more than a decade, I have come to realise that sports offer a great metaphor for life.
During the super bowl half time show Justin Timberlake was chosen to perform and during one point of the show he was walking around in the stands and towards the end of his performance. One young kid took a selfie with Justin while he was singing. He looked so out of place and once the super bowl was over he blew up and his picture was turned into a meme. He was a young kid and there is no way he has any knowledge of who Justin Timberlake is nor has he heard any of his music. One of the more popular memes was the picture of him with a google search open with the words typed in "who is Justin Timberlake" The intended audience for my artifact are the fans and people watching the super bowl, people who like memes, and the everyday person.

Even if you have no interest in Basketball or sports in general, you 've probably already caught wind of Kobe Bryant 's retirement. Last Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers star announced he was calling it a career after 20 illustrious seasons in the NBA. What made Kobe 's declaration unique from other retirement announcements was its delivery method. Most high-profile athletes would simply do it during a press conference, or have their agent release a statement. Not Kobe.
The Los Angeles Clippers have the longest winning streak in the NBA with 9 straight games. All but one win without Blake Griffin, out because of injury. Whoopty damn doo. Sorry for my negative vibe, but I have been down on the Clippers since the gave up the western conference semifinals series to the Houston Rockets last year. They were up 3-1 in the series, then 3-2 with game 6 in their backyard.
Basketball fans are always anxious when summer arrives. Every NBA summer, fans’ favorite players could be on the move to a new city, or they could stay in their current jerseys. This summer has been no different, as we’ve witnessed two of the most shocking free agency announcements since LeBron James took his talents to South Beach. On the 4th of July, Kevin Durant announced he would sign with the Golden State Warriors, while Dwyane Wade took his talents from South Beach to Chicago. It’s difficult to say which decision is more shocking, as both players were considered their former team’s franchise player.
