Korean War

On June 25, 1950 at 4:30 ten divisions of north koreans invaded south korean. 75,000 North Koreans soldiers poured over the 38th parallel into south Korea. With in the first 12 hour Truman committed U.S. air and naval forces to help defend south Korea and signed a bill to widen the draft pool. North Korea hoped the U.S. would look away and let the south be taken.

Cause of the war

The end of the second world war one meant that Americans had some peace and prosperity for awhile. But Koreans, it represented difficulty. Korea was part of japanese empire throughout the first 20th century, when japan fell korea was free and hoped they could finally decide their own fate and make their own decisions.

American troops after a American air raid could hear koreans screaming and yelling it was horrible. Throughout the were they fought in trenches. During the war the chinese surprised us started fighting us Americans found mass graves of Americans that had been killed. Korean winters were really really bad it could get below -40 below zero guys walked all around just trying to stay warm many men died of hypothermia and a lot of men died because they froze they could not get worm. Men got severe frostbite and had to be evacuated, American find the cold to be just as deadly as the enemy. The cold changed the propellant properties and they could not hit
