Why are you planning to attend Oakton? Include your educational goals/career interests/professional aspirations and your plans to meet these goals. I am planning to attend Oakton because having known my financial situation for some time now, going to community college is the best choice for me. This is especially thinking in the long run. My goals at Oakton are to graduate with a 3.5 or above GPA and to take courses to help me get my general education out of the way which will allow me to focus more on the classes that I need in order to succeed in my major and to help increase my understanding with the job I hope to pursue.
Why This Goal Back in my prior tertiary institution, I was provided with an opportunity to develop public speaking/hosting skills. Unfortunately, when I became a senior of my CCA, I was in my final year of studies. The lack of time did not permit me to contribute back to my hosting CCA. As such, I intend to continue my hosting stint in SMU and in time impart the knowledge and skills I have gained over the years to my future juniors who are as passionate as I was when I started. In my opinion, as AMT’s president, I will be in a better position to shape the CCA into a platform where we advocate self-development and teamwork.
This was by far the most difficult challenge I faced in connecting with my students. While students became pretty eager to attend the FIG session throughout the semester, they were not as enthusiastic about doing things outside of the class. The first event I tried to organize was a study session in preparation for the first round of midterms. I chose a location that was very central to where many of them lived and on a day of the week that they said was best. Throughout the week, I constantly reminded them about the study group session, however, on the day of the event, I sadly only had two students attend.
A structured training and integration program for contingency area employees and managers is also required in order to improve contingency support activities. This warrants a thorough analysis as managers are responsible for the implementation of organizational policies, vision, and goals and have a significant impact on the climate and culture of the organization. The Fort Campbell AAFES is happy to employ military spouses from its local community. Fort Campbell AAFES sets itself apart from other AAFES as they set the example with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP). Spouses are familiar with AAFES and with other military families in a unique way.
I wanted to be more confident and just be myself, not caring so much about what other people thought of me. About a couple weeks prior to the start of the school year, I received an email about the COB Mentoring Program. It was at that moment I knew this would be my opportunity to set out on a journey to achieving my personal goals. Not only did I believe that the program would help me meet new people, but I knew that it could help me be more of that confident, charismatic person I wanted to become. Because of the COB Mentoring Program I've met so many amazing people that I know I'll stay in touch with even after my college years.
Accountability Is something that is very important and leader and superiors in the Military or in any job for that reason, for the simple fact that it is not only a requirement for you but also very important to your supervisors or chain of command depending on your situation. You can resort to accountability for many reason when it comes to daily productivity as a team or group. Maintaining accountability of anything wether it be equipment or people can be very helpful when it comes to dividing tasks and assignments or just keeping track of everybody or everything you are in charge of. Punctuality is also very important and plays a very big part in accountability, for example, a soldier is late to formation and doesn’t inform his supervisor, this can lead to his supervisor not being able to provide accurate numbers to his/her
“A lot of my job throughout the years has had the requirements of trust. Being able to trust your superiors, being able to trust the guy next to you, and being able to trust that your subordinates will complete the task at hand properly otherwise missions fail. Just like any job or large company you surround yourselves you want to immaculate.” Trust makes or breaks the strength of an army. But in any situation learning from those who trust others with there life can show how becoming a trustworthy person is vital to making this world a better
Professionalism is one of the most important competencies of social work. Maintaining all the different aspects and qualities of professionalism will not only portray us as good social workers, but also the more competent and empathetic we are the better we are able to help and assist our clients. Preparing for this in my field work has already showed me how I need to behave and appear to the patients at Hardin
In general it seems that this group of managers treat their managerial responsibilities with great respect. Moreover, they often talked about regional directives as important and something that should be taken seriously. When interviewing one manager we noticed the engagement and commitment to the regional directives of balanced score card (BSC) in form of the patient satisfaction objective, as we observed a manual customer satisfaction barometer being placed in the entrance of the care unit which was something particular for this care unit indicating the respect and acceptance of senior
Personal Leadership Statement. As a leader, I have a vision of strengthening the friendship of old classmates who were together for three years and plan on how we can reach to the development by putting our ideas and resources together for investment. I like to lead the meeting for my senior six class, and l lead the meeting in my own way. When I am leading I first make sure that the group knows well what we are going to talk about through explaining the topic clearly. This means that I have to first let them know the agenda of the meeting.
He shared this leadership style has been effective for him building rapport, respect, and camaraderie amongst his subordinates. He says the best way to enter a team is to learn the team you are leading before you commit to one style of leadership. Inquire the needs of the men and women and establish the leadership that is effective for you. Don’t be tied down by have one style and being the definition of a traditional leader. I have a better insight of what careers I am best suited for. Some of the careers identified were, detective, managers, judge, and teachers. My role also taught me about my relationship with my family putting God first, family second, and friends third. It showed I 'm dedicated to building lifelong relationships, I like to be in charge and have a tendency of being controlling and have very little patience, and having a high regard to traditions. I like stability being secured and, protective of my family.
My FDDS colleagues and I would have to find sponsors and other American University faculty members who would be willing to come into the seminar everyday to help run this program. This seminar will help our future generations make just decisions and treat the people around them with respect. To measure the success rate of this event, students who attended the seminar can take a survey and discuss what they have learned during the seminar. The students who really enjoyed their stay can write an essay on why they would like to come back and volunteer the next year. Only twenty volunteer spots would be available for returning students.
Effective communication is key in everything I do. I work as a team leader (manager) at Target, so knowing how and when to deliver a message and in what way is critical in running an effective and strong business. More importantly, being able to develop a strong team that can do the same is key to making my job easier. Being that I work in a consumer-centric business, I have to know and be able to adapt my communication strategy to both my team and our guests and ensure that, when necessary, secure information remains confidential. I hope to advance my communication skills by taking this class so I can become a stronger communicator.
Hearing the many stories about how my mom had gone to college for a couple years before being constricted by debt, has pushed me to actively pursue the many scholarships I’ve applied for. My goal as I continue my education is to be the first in my family to graduate from a college, and my passion for the love of sports, especially our Cleveland teams, will help me get there as I strive to major in marketing and one day get to work for a professional sports franchise somewhere around the
