In the language acquisition process, writing comes almost at the end. First we develop our listening skill, then we start speaking, after that reading comes along, and later in that process writing comes along. And there is only one explanation if we wanted to figure this process out: it takes time. Nonetheless, in Second Language Learners (SLLs) the writing process does not take longer, because there is an existent framework, which language teachers can use for that specific purpose. In other words, we will use the prior knowledge SLLs already have and use it to our favor and their favor as well, so that they can communicate their ideas in writing, too.

Peregoy & Boyle (2005) affirm that process writing is an approach to teaching writing that has been researched in depth over the past several years with both first language learners and English language learners. In process writing, students experience five interrelated phases: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and publishing. During the prewriting phase, students choose a topic and generate ideas. Once they have chosen their topic, they begin drafting. As they compose their first draft, they are encouraged to let their ideas flow onto the paper without concern for perfection in form or mechanics. However, since I was successful in this lab course, it would not be until Winter Quarter when I fully recognized this flaw in Writing 39B. Enduring my chaotic and unproductive process of writing the Rhetorical Analysis Essay and Rhetoric in Practice Final Project has greatly influenced and improved the way I conduct my writing process in general. The specifics of my writing process and how it has evolved will be expanded upon in the following chapter. In the end, learning the importance of having an efficient drafting process and starting my assignments in a timely manner has improved my performance in my other classes; especially lab. I now start my lab reports earlier, focusing on making them more organized, detailed, and well-written.
This semester I completed Composition 2. During the course I wrote three essays. Like Composition 1, I had the option to rewrite my papers after seeing the grade. Having the chance to rewrite my papers was very beneficial because I could improve my grade, and more importantly, learn what I was doing wrong. Amongst my writings, three major flaws stood out.
Writing is an essential part of an individual’s success. Writing comes in many forms, and it is not only used in an English course. It can be an email to a college professor, a resume, a lab report, a hotel review, etc. There are countless forms are writing, and it is important to understand how to approach each piece of writing. The writing skills have been lacking in America, and the reason is because schools have only 24% of the students in eighth and 12th grades were proficient in writing and just 3% were advanced. Article Analysis: The Importance of Writing Badly Bruce Ballenger’s article titled “The Importance of Writing Badly” takes a rather peculiar approach to addressing the issue of effective writing. The author eccentrically argues for the importance of ‘bad writing’ by describing different reasons to support his arguments. He argues that it is normal to apportion blames without understanding the root causes of poor writing skills. The author quotes different people who have expressed concerns about poor writing among students including his doctor. He proceeds by explaining why he would encourage his students not to concentrate on their poor writing experiences.
Here are some questions you should ask yourself when revising and editing your work: Spelling: Is each word correctly spelled? Punctuation: Have you used periods, question marks, commas, colons, and other punctuation marks correctly? Complete Sentences: Are all of your sentences complete, and neither fragment nor run-on sentences? Sentence Structure: Do you vary the sentence structure you use?
Every student has their own writing process. Writing process ways is the student's way to have the best writing assignments and make who ever read it understand their main idea. In this essay I am going to explain my own writing process for various type. In chapter 4 by Keith Hjortshoj “How Good Writing Gets Written” which talks about how should develops their writing skills and gives them some tips that they should use in their writing process.
Then, main issue for Mr. Honda is that the place where he is currently working at which is the Nishi High has been assigned the duty of editing the text in textbook and resubmit it to the publisher. As a head of the English department, he wanted to make sure everything is fine without mistake. He asked Scott to do him this favour by helping the school to repair some errors in the textbook. However, Mr. Honda did not expect that there will be so many errors in the textbook.

Whenever you have the opportunity to critique someone else’s written work, you can see it from a different perspective and with a fresh set of new ideas. Sometimes when the work is all your own, you subconsciously already have a preconceived thought process that can be tough to deter yourself from. It also assisted in helping me to better understand the instructions for the assignment, the criteria that was expected, and taught me methods on how to better critique my own written work. As a result of this assignment, I was able to see my paper in a different light. My classmate’s critique offered me several different positive viewpoints in regards to the body and flow of my paper.
