At the highest levels of governments around the world the pedophile culture receives protection and cover. The members of this culture include the rich, high level, famous, and influential people. The pedophile culture is embedded in justice systems around the world where the perpetrators are able to flee prosecution for long periods of time even in the midst of investigations and warrants being issued. Former president of the U.S. George H. W. Bush allegedly hosted gatherings of congress persons and senators for the purpose of engaging in acts of pedophilia. In the case involving Bush, witnesses report that he was involved in the "Franklin Savings and Loan case" during the 1980's involving Larry King. Larry King was supplying children for
This story is a typical case of child sexual abuse with a male offender, Jerry Sandusky, who victims were aged between 7 and 13, and who had a close
During the Penn State child rape scandal, Jerry Sandusky had been accused of having sexual relations by force with athletes at the college. Further documentation shows that Sandusky had not only one sexual relations with a student; but with “10 boys in a period of 15 years. “(Huffington Post) The classification of crimes that Jerry Sandusky committed is legally defined as “mala in se.” During the first apparent observation of abuse occurring at the school, Michael McQueary, a former assistant coach for Penn State, reported the descry to Joe Paterno; whom then reported the accusation to school officials.
She reported that Sandusky had showered with her son in the Lasch Building. The investigation revealed no evidence of a crime. In a meeting with Sandusky, that included a caseworker from the Department of Public Welfare, the police detective advised Sandusky not to be showering with any other children (Crandall, 2014). The case was closed. The four officials were all informed of the police report and investigation status, but none reported it to the trustees or acted on it, they continued as if it did not happen.
There are so many unanswered questions left-over from this scandal that it really makes it hard to say that it was resolved and even harder to decide whether or not it was resolved in a positive or negative manner. This is also not to say that there weren’t ways in which the crisis was resolved in positive ways. The more positive ways that this predicament was resolved in are still able to be seen today as after all of this happened Congress passed various laws in regards to government ethics, campaign financing, and freedom of information. Although there were many, many
Here, Jerry Sandusky was an assistant coach at Penn State for years, under the leadership of Joe Paterno the founder of Second Mile. This organization helps disadvantaged children. Jerry seems to be a model citizen within the community. Jerry Sandusky was a serial child rapist, it’s hard to understand that no one knew of his insignificant behavior. Furthermore, in Penn State University there were people in high place that know about Sandusky behavior and did nothing.
Various reports suggest that he acted to persuade the men not to report what they knew to the criminal justice system but rather to have ‘empathy for Sandusky’ with no known mention of concern for the victims and their families (Alderfer, 2013). Their effectiveness in collectively denying allegations against Sandusky during this time lead the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, Linda Kelly to comment retrospectively '' Those officials and administrators to whom it was reported did not report that incident to law enforcement or to any child protective agency. Their inaction, likely, allowed a child predator to continue to victimize children for many, many years” (Thamel, 2011).
There are many influential items that were brought up during the trial that the judge used to impose his sentence. After a jury found him guilty of over 45 separate charges the sentencing process began, the judge made a statement regarding Jerry Sandusky's status in the community and the fact that he was able to become a predator without anyone knowing and was able to keep it covered up for so long (Bohm & Haley, 2014). The judge continued by also making sure that Sandusky knew the sentencing was being based on the facts brought up in court and that they are true beyond a reasonable doubt (Daily News, 2012). He also must consider the fact the way Sandusky not only committed these crimes but the way it occurred, such as how he abused the trust of the victims who at first had trusted him. These crimes that were committed were not committed against strangers and the judge makes a comment that just that fact makes this a whole lot worse than if it were actually being committed against a stranger (Daily News, 2012).
"America 's Dad, Bill Cosby, Sexual assault charges and the ruling that still hasn 't been decided" Long time comedian and beloved moralist has faced trial and charges for sexual assault against 50 different women. In October 2014 Andrea Constand came out with accusations against Cosby and pressed charges for sexual assault. Since then over 50 different women from as far back the late 1960 's have came to public saying they too have been drugged and raped by the comedian. Cosby has denied since the beginning that he did not rape any of them women but did admit that he bought Quaalude, a narcotic drug, to have sex with women but said he did not give them to any women without their knowledge of it.
The possible biases in jury decision-making will be discussed, including those related to having a celebrity on trial. In addition, this paper will examine the taboo nature of sexual assault cases, the problems that often arise in such cases, and the psychological toll on the victim. One issue with this case is the prosecution’s lack forensic evidence. In a “he said, she said” case that lacks the evidence that jurors expect in order to make their decision, it comes down to whether they believe the defendant or the prosecution. When DNA is not available, other types of physical evidence are examined (LaPorte, G., Nguyen, M., Schwarting, D., Scott, F., Waltke, H., Weiss, D., 2017).

The Jerry Sandusky trial began in 2012 and was held in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Sandusky was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts and sentenced to 30 to 60 years in jail (Curry, 2015). The details of the case are horrific in nature, and worse is five men were made aware of the incidents and no action was taken to alert authorities. During the trial the victims were led through questions that all pointed toward the trust they had in Sandusky. The university is located in a small town setting where people work hard and have little; Sandusky reaching out to someone was considered a big deal.
In The Laramie Project, by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Company, we read the story of a homosexual hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming told from many different perspectives. Though discriminatory crimes against homosexuals have largely decreased, discriminatory crimes in general do still exist. This includes crimes against certain races, genders, and religions. America has come a long way since the events in The Laramie Project but we still have a long way to go in terms of women’s health and discriminatory crimes. Religious voices play large roles in The Laramie Project.
Final Paper In 1960, 77 percent of women and 65 percent of men under 30 had attained the five milestones that mark a transition to adulthood: “leaving home, completing one’s education, starting work, getting married and becoming a parent.” In 2000, those figures had declined to 46 percent of women and 31 percent of men. One-fifth of all 25-year-olds live at home with their parents. Michael Kimmel is an American sociologist specializing in gender studies.
On June 17, 1972 there were five burglars arrested inside of the Office of the Democratic National Committee, which is located in the watergate building in Washington D.C. The robbers were caught trying to wiretap phones and steal secret documents. It turns out that the robbers are connected to Nixon’s reelection campaign. They weren’t sure if Nixon was connected to the burglary, but he attempted to cover it up. For example, he raised “hush money” for the burglars, he destroyed evidence, fired uncooperative staff members.
In the novel Brave New World, author Aldous Huxley links sexual promiscuity and happiness by utilizing diction and imagery, proving that the only link sexual promiscuity has towards happiness is that it promotes a false sense of happiness. In the “New World Society”, where the main characters Lenina and Bernard Marx are from, everything is controlled and created to fit the social ecosystem of their “perfect” society. Even the people are created, from vials. Not born or produced.
