Abigail is later presented as autocratic and flirtatious. This is apparent when she tells John to ‘Give’ her ‘a word’. The use of the imperative verb ‘give’ portrays Abigail as very authoritative and controlling – suggesting she is a confident and strong character (and implies the relationship to be rather one-sided). She continues to describe his word as ‘soft’. This implies that Abigail has a flirtatious and provocative nature (who desires attention from

Throughout America's history, the design of our currency has been changed quite a few times for reasons such as, avoiding counterfeit threats or to instill and show our American pride. In 2020, the U.S. will be changing the face of the $10 bill to a woman's face. The year 2020 is significant because it is the 100th year anniversary of when women gained the right to vote. You could say there are many women that deserve this honor, but I believe that Lucy Stone should be the one featured on the bill because of her many contributions to the evolution of American democracy.
There are so many topics I believe that Richard Wright would've talked about today that it is hard to narrow down to just three. If someone told him that we would have a black president in the next century we definitely would have looked at you like you were crazy but if he were here today he would be proud of how much better we have come today. We have improved as a country today for equal rights and treatment of black people but we also still have a long way to go for we are not perfect. For example he would be very ashamed how black people are still getting killed just because of their skin color. He would also be disappointed that blacks are still getting paid less statistically less than whites considering how many jobs Richard had growing up.
Cecily Strong is a comedian of the famous and popular show Saturday Night Live on NBC. She often works with her coworkers to made fun of what happening in the world. As a comedian, many of her jokes fall into the category of dry sarcasm. So, it is important to take that into consideration when watching the speeches she gives. In in April of 2015, she gave a speech at the White House Correspondents Dinner at the Washington Hilton.
Whenever you drive down a highway and see a patch of wildflowers, there’s one woman you may want to thank: Lady Bird Johnson. It may come as no surprise that someone called Lady Bird would love the outdoors, but Lady Bird Johnson took her love to make the world a better place.
Thousands of women have screamed at the top of their lungs, clawed at the patriarchy, and tirelessly fought for their rights as citizens of the United States of America. From the beginning of mankind, women have been labeled as inferior to men not only physically, but mentally and intellectually as well. Only in 1920 did women gain the right to voice their opinions in government elections while wealthy white men received the expected right since the creation of the United States. A pioneer in women’s suffrage, Susan B. Anthony publicly spoke out against this hypocrisy in a time when women were only seen as child bearers and household keepers. Using the United State’s very own Constitution and Declaration as ammunition, Anthony wrote countless
I am going to give you many facts about West Virginia. Some of them may be boring to you but for me they are all interesting. I am doing this because it is one of the end of the year projects. I was chosen this state by a random name picker. At first I was so bored of it, but now that I researched it, it is actually very interesting.

“Far from what I once was but not yet what I’m going to be.” What is victory? The definition of victory is an act of defeating the enemy. But, this doesn’t define you. You see, september 11, 2001 America was under attack; most of you probably remember this day. Over three thousand people were killed during the attack in New York and Washington D.C. This included four hundred police officers and firefighters. But, we didn’t let this tragedy define us, we fought back.
The speech was a very informative speech, addressing students with various facts and praises of the foundation of North Carolina Central University. NCCU is in fact praiseworthy. In 1910, James E. Shepard founded NCCU under the unique name, “National Religious Training School and Chautauqua for the Colored Race”. James E. Shepard was a pharmacist and religious educator, whom graduated from Shaw University, and later on in 1895, he married his wife Annie D. Shepard. Mrs. Shepard was the one who wrote the lyrics to North Carolina Central University 's Alma Mater, “Dear Old N.C.C”. She even wrote the column “A Moment of Meditation” in the Federation Journal. Mrs. Shepard did a huge contribution in the making of NCCU.

Today I'm going to be talking about Melba. The reason why is because she is an important person of why integration ended. To start off she almost died because of a racist people as a young child because the doctor took away her medicine for her to stay alive. Then she wants to attend a all white school Central High. And she gets to because Little Rock is integrating and she signed up for it. Then a big riot starts and the students and teachers treated the LR9(that’s what the called them because there where nine students who attended) terrible. Then Danny a solider who helps keep the LR9 safe from the riot is very helpful to Melba. He gives her all kinds of advice. Even one time some boy splashed ink or some acid in her face and Danny came with a bucket of cold water if he wasn’t there she would have lost her eye sight.
Thank you, Millicent Fawcett, for giving me the opportunity to speak on behalf of the National Union of Women 's Suffrage Societies which Millicent leads with grace and dignity. Some of you may know me and some of you may not, but I am Clementine Forest one of 3000 women suffragists who has marched here today, the largest march ever occurred, for the cause of women 's suffrage. I am here to represent and express the importance of women receiving the right to vote. Unfortunately, the London weather wasn 't on our side with the presence of heavy rain throughout our march from Hyde Park to Exter Hall, but this reinforces that nothing will stop women from protesting their right to vote. As you know we have been gathered together as one, today on February 9th, 1907, the day in which Parliament is open once again for the coming year. But did we elect who sits in this parliament, our husbands did, our sons did, our nephews and uncles but not a single woman did. That is why we are here, today, to protest before the opening of parliament for everyone to see, that a change, a significant change must be made in our society.
