The Columbine High School Massacre took place on April 20, 1999. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were behind the horrible act. While what they did was one of the worst shootings to ever take place in America, it was a well thought-out plan. The two had planted a small bomb about 3 miles from the school as a diversion so they could go through with their heinous crime a little smoother. The bomb went off at 11:14 AM and started a small fire which was quickly extinguished by the fire department. At 11:19 AM, Harris entered the school equipped with a 12-gauge Savage-Springfield 67H pump-action shotgun, which he fired 25 times, and a High-Point 995 Carbine 9mm carbine with 13 10-round magazines, which was fired a total of 96 times. There has been multiple tragedies that have shocked America over the years. Many dealing with gun violence including the Columbine Shooting in 1999, the Virginia Tech Shooting in 2007, and the Umpqua Community College School Shooting in 2015. These tragedies we still look back on and remember those that were lost and those that survived. The shooting at Sandy Hook School is the one that recently had an anniversary.
Civil rights refers to fighting for equal rights between blacks and whites. It is an important part of history. From time to time, people have been fighting for civil rights for blacks in whites in the mid 1900’s. In fact, Bloody Sunday was probably one of the most important events to have an impact on history for civil rights. Everyday, people struggle to be treated equally and civil rights make it possible for everyone black or white to be treated equally. As a result of Bloody Sunday, this event helped blacks speak up and be heard.
Will banning of assault weapons reduce crime? The production, sale, and possession of assault weapons for private citizens should be banned in the U.S. According to “The Washington Post”, banning assault weapons will not reduce crime. It will only lead to banning of guns. In the post, they state, “It 's only real justification not to reduce crime, but to make the ownership of weapons to the public less.” By making the ownership of weapons less, the crime rate will most likely decrease, individuals will feel more comfortable walking out-side.

School violence is an all too common event reported throughout history. Shootings and massacres are not a recent phenomenon, however, a historical recurrence . The first known case of a school massacre was reported July, 26th, 1764, an incident of the Pontiac War. Three Native American men raided a schoolhouse, in now present day Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and killed the Schoolmaster, Enoch Brown, and took the lives of 10 boys. Hundreds of years later, cases such as these happen all too frequently. In May 21st, 1998, Springfield, Oregon was struck with the news of a school shooting at Thurston High School. 15 year old, Kip Kinkel, first killed his parents at home before driving to school where he fatally shot two students, and wounded 22 others. Littleton, Colorado, on April 20th, 1999, was once the most fatal attack on a school. 18 year old, Eric Harris, and Dylan Klebold, 17, planned out their attack for a year, to kill at least 500 peers, and detonate the school. The shooting killed 12 students, one teacher, and wounded 21 others before committing suicide.
On the days before the shooting the boys had to acquire weapons and ammo but the boys were underaged. They knew a friend who made a purchase for 2 shotguns and a carbine rifle for them.They had a total of 4 guns, 99 explosives, and 4 knives with them during the incident. The boys tried to blow up the school but the explosives didn't go off. On April,20,1999 11:19 A.M they shot the first students which were Rachel Scott and Richard Castaldo.
Some people think that a shooting at their school or workplace will not happen to them. But it can happen to anytime and anywhere. For example how it happened to Shari Thornberg and Matthew Downing. They both did not expect the shooting to happen but it did. Shari Thornberg who was working at the school she works that day heard shots and taught it was the janitor doing something until she heard the janitor screaming don’t shoot and she took cover in a room and hid from the shooter. Matthew Downing got lucky he was in his college and the shooter entered the classroom armed and said one of you will be the lucky one who will not die and it was Matthew Downing who was the lucky one. It turned out that he wanted Matthew to give a letter to the police

The act of a mad man had been committed and the unthinkable had been done.

December fourteen, two thousand and twelve, twenty-year old Adam Lanza was blamed for the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. After Lanza killed his mother, Nancy, he drove to Sandy Hook Elementary. Using an AR-15 assault rifle gun, he killed twenty, first grade children and six adults within five minutes. Shortly after taking the lives of the students and faculty, Adam Lanza committed suicide (CBS News.) Current gun laws need to be enforced.

When he does you’re almost guaranteed to die in a horrible freak accident of some kind. The premise is that you can’t cheat death, although the characters spend a lot of time trying to do just that. The franchise released five movies in total, from 2000 up until 2011. Fans who love slasher movies with a freaky theme just couldn’t seem to get enough.
