As time advances, a trait that I believe that goes unnoticed is my ability to be a leader. A leader qualifies as a person that motivates and inspires other individuals to aim for their highest goals. In addition, a leader passionately holds a positive attitude and high self-esteem. Furthermore, being a leader of the baseball team was just as important to me as the game itself. Being the team captain of my high school baseball team was one of the responsibilities that I have encountered. I kept teammates focused on the game and picked up teammates when they were down. Additionally, being an independent person is satisfying, but expanding my horizons and investing my time in other people has made me realize what my priorities are. UW-Madison will widen my perception of being focused which would help with my studies and my goal of becoming a registered nurse. Some parents did not realize how much hard work and dedication we put into the morning workouts, because we had goals to obtain. My teammates would whine and groan about the exercises, but I pushed them to their limits. I knew we set goals for each other and I was going to do everything I could to achieve them. During these workouts they taught me as a leader to set goals and reach them by a certain deadline. Our goals were looking for the best in ourselves individually and as a whole team.
