According to Allio (2012) good leaders require both competence and integrity. Leadership is defined as the accomplishment of a goal through the direction of human assistants (Prentice, 1961). Similarly, leadership is defined as an interaction between two or more members of a group that often involves a structuring or restructuring of the situation and the perceptions and expectations of members (Bass B., 1990). Leaders play important role as they are the one who develop an organizational culture of trust. In a way, they build a foundation of integrity and ethical standards in the organization (Waxler and Higginson, 1990).

Leaders should accept their faults and weaknesses, if not they will look for ways to conceal their true-selves. Furthermore, according to Bill George, authentic leaders should encompass the following criteria; understanding their purpose, practicing solid values, leading with heart, and establishing connected relationships, demonstrating self-discipline (George 18). It is essential for a leader to understand their purpose of leading because it serves as a guide or direction towards the difference they want to make. When leaders clearly identify what they are working toward and the purpose behind it; they will then understand their present needs and know what steps need to be taken to reach their goals. Leaders should also practice solid values that represent their personal morals and character, such as integrity.
You cannot expect to motivate others to put in their best efforts if you yourself are not leading by example. The best motivation for many people is seeing their boss right there working just as hard as everyone else. This demonstrates your commitment to your team and is a sure fire way to inspire their loyalty. It is great if you can not only prove that you work hard, but also that you are fair and do not expect anything of your team that you are not willing to do yourself! A positive attitude will also go a long way to showing your commitment to your role as a leader.
Social Responsibilities The other qualities of a leader should be action-oriented. The duty of a leader is to encourage and raise the standard of people and always remember the tasks. On the other hand, a leader cannot do every work alone, so a leader should approach needs to help others for doing all the works. Otherwise, the responsibility of a leader is to support work environment and develop self-relationship. Take for instance, when a leader has a plan of developing a medical mission, the people should support the medical mission for the sake of all.
Communication is also another huge skill. A leader needs to be able to clearly communicate, build relationships, motivate others, inspire others, and be a role model to create a positive work environment and culture that will accept change and innovation in the company. Leaders also need to show everyone how to behave, and they need to be honest, show appreciation, and work towards a bright future. If a leader is not effective the whole company can fall apart. Leadership is all about the relationship between those that aim and strive to lead and those who select and follow them and work together on shared goals.
