Summarize Leadership theory Paradigms The leadership theory paradigm is an explanation of different types of leadership theory it helps to predict and control successful leadership through perceiving, studying, researching, and understand leadership. It includes following theories, trait theory, behavioral leadership theory, contingency leadership theory integrative leadership theory and the management to the leadership theory. Leadership trait theory is based on attempt to explain a distinctive characteristic of leadership effectiveness. Behavioral leadership theories are explaining distinctive styles that used by effective leaders. Contingency leadership theories are explaining the leadership style that appropriate based on the leader and followers situation.
Contingency theories put forth the idea that the success of a leader hinges on the specific situation at hand. A situation can be proven effective based on the leader or the leadership style attached. The factors that would determine this would include the task, the personality of the leader and the composition of the group that is meant to be led. Its basic assumption is that leadership-success or failure – is situational. There are a number of sub-theories that fall under the general contingency umbrella.
Empowerment & Situational Leadership Essay What does empowerment mean to me? I feel empowerment means allowing people to use their skills, resources and opportunities and holding them responsible and accountable for what they are doing. Furthermore, it describes the main themes of leadership and empowerment, such as ecosystems of leadership, influence, character of a leader, and strength, which will be discussed as a whole and how these key themes interrelate and integrate. Defining Leadership and Empowerment When defining leadership and empowerment, it is not as straightforward as it may appear, when closely interpreting leadership there are various ways of approaching the core concepts of leadership and empowerment.
It is based in the notion that a leaders’ task is to create structures that make it and also the consequences for meeting or not meeting these expectations. This theory is often likened to the concept and practice component of many leadership models and organizational structures.
