Foreign languages are offered in many high schools nationwide in the United States. However, learning a language so late in one’s life does have its downsides. A person might speak with the vocabulary of a small child by the age of sixteen. There are numerous other reasons why languages should be taught early on. I learn many new strategies that can be used to help infants and toddlers increase their language acquisition. I learned that language is there since a child is born; for example if a child cries this is a form of language and a way for the child to communicate its needs to the parent. Skinner work on operant conditioning yet different because it uses language as a way to extend learning. In my own opinion, people should be taught to write in cursive, therefore it should be kept in schools. Cursive may not be very essential in our modern lives, yet it is still an important skill to learn. As stated in paragraph three, studies shows that writing in cursive stimulates both sides of the brain as well as helping in the development of fine motor-skills, which does help us in our average lives whether you notice it or not. Being able to write in cursive allows a person to anticipate further and think quickly, which in turn allows for quicker reaction time, and more brain activity.
