Passions don’t just have an affect you, they teach others knowledge, common sense and, they teach people responsibility. My passions are my education, Boy Scouts and, my family. These greatly affect the world because they help to create a better and more responsible generation. Not only do they create a better generation, they help sustain what the people before us have worked so hard to create. Nelson Mandela once said,” Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” My education is important to me and like Nelson Mandela said, you can change the world with it.
Vasari’s Lives of the Artists provides records of the training of each artist in question which will help verify or disprove this claim. While waiting for my competitions to start, I practiced with my coaches and thought to myself, “I can do this, I can do this, I can do this,” hopefully trying to increase my confidence. Finally, it was my turn to go the competition with butterflies in my stomach, and a big burden on me. My partner Justin, a ninth grader, approached me and said, “Don’t worry we got this, just focus and you’ll be all right.” As we were done with our test, it was our turn to show our Hovercraft. I powered it up, and I could feel the strong air pushing against my face from the blazing force our hovercraft went. The hovercraft passed the finish line and got a good time of 0.9 seconds.
I also feel that being in Band playing the trumpet has taught me how to perform well under pressure and how to work well in teams, we recently had a Large Group Performance Evaluation and competition where we had to learn a new piece of music in ten minutes and then perform it in front of an audience, our group was told that we were one of the best performers and our evaluation coach felt the trumpet section did perfect. One of my greatest weaknesses is learning to have patience in my goals and dreams. I want to do everything I can do reach my goals. However, I have to remember that there are many steps along the way that are important that I have to enjoy. I have learned that I need patience in my schooling and homework, I used to work really fast
