Leroy Hood, an American biologist once said, “Don't underestimate the power of your vision to change the world. Whether that world is your office, your community, an industry, or a global movement, you need to have a core belief that what you contribute can fundamentally change the paradigm or way of thinking about problems.” One of the main reasons the world is so bad today is because people are too afraid to try, they are too afraid to stand out from everyone around them. This is because of how judgemental and hypocritical people have become over a period of time. Some people have really good ideas, and would like to participate more in the world, but are too scared to step out of their comfort zone. Along with trying in school, students would try harder and be less afraid if there was not always that one other person to put them down. School activities is a perfect example, students would participate more with sports, NHS, and other activities if they were not so afraid that the other kids would judge …show more content…
Now, think about the people that are in jail that got put there for doing something they most likely should not have been doing. Have you ever realized that people in jail get treated better than people in the military. In jail or even prison you are not risking your life, you are serving time or being punished, but you get more free time and you get better food then the military citizens that are fighting for us. Not only do people in jail get treated better than people in the army, they also get treated better than elderly people in nursing homes. People in prison or jail get a shower everyday, access to a library, computer, tv, gym, doctor on site, and free medication if needed. However, elderly in a nursing home get cold meals, lights out at 7, two showers a week, live in a smaller room, and have to pay 4,000 dollars a month for
This can affect them in the long goal, they will have a low self-esteem about theirselves and this can even lead up to suidcide. Why pretend that schools in the United States are a good support. When bullying occurs in all the schools. People are so cold hearted that bulling, a student for not having his parents is most likely to
The government treats prisoners as if they are nothing in this world. The U.S prison system needs to be reformed by building new and better prisons and making it more humane and fair. Looking back to the prison history. Incarceration has not always been a common form of punishment. Back then people wanted to reform and change the way
Inmates are constantly violated by cellmates and prison guards, both physically and sexually. Violence is often associated with prison gangs and interpersonal conflict. Prison guards are bribable and all kinds of contrabands including weapon, drug, liquor, tobacco and cell phone can be found in inmates’ hands. Crime within the fence is rampant, only counting those with violent act, 5.8 million reports were made in 2014. If the prison is really what it claims to be, shouldn’t prisoners be serving their time with regret and learning to be obedient?
It is disheartening when great minds become trapped in these unfortunate learning situations, because we lose what they could have been able to achieve. It is obviously not a child’s fault that they were born into the social class they belong to, but they have no way around it. So when they get stuck in a school that does nothing to provide for an active learning environment, many kids become frustrated with school due to the lack of intellectual stimuli and eventually come to dislike school all together. Some may even develop destructive habits, as they have nothing else to serve as a distraction. Mike Rose is one person who had this experience, as so accurately recalled in his essay, “I Just Wanna Be Average.”
School should not be year round. Kids need a break from learning stuff in school. If we don’t have school year round families and kids could do more fun things because kids wouldn’t be stuck in school for seven hours of their day five days a week. Kids need a break from all the school work because we get too much work. Although school year round could be good for some kids.
In addition to that, there is a problem with the lack of necessary resource in a school. Whether this is seen in only a few schools or a lot, it is unacceptable and must be fixed. How can we expect these students to learn, work, and live on an equal playing field when they don’t even have books, while others have every resource you could ever want in a school? We have this idea of education being the panacea of world struggle, but is it really? When we have all these schools that are not fairly treated.
Adults with enough money are able to choose to buy houses in areas with good schools for their kids. The success of children is also affected by who they are going to school with because kids are strongly influenced by their peers. Therefore, if a child is in an extremely competitive school environment they are more likely to work hard and succeed. A negative school environment where kids don’t feel safe and no one is trying to learn
We have to help our elderly people. We have to take care of them because they already old and they don’t have the energy to work like young person. Elderly people in their past maybe that had been working a lot or not, but they do need a lot help. How many elderlies their families forget about them, and they put them in asylum. According to the article, why are encouraging struggling senior to enroll in SNAP, by Becky squires “67 percent of struggling older people age 60 and above, that is mean that millions of seniors are suffering from the debiliting effects of hunger and poor nutrition” how this is possible older people do not have the energy work, and younger people do have

Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
For example if bulling continues at school and school doesn’t take action on this attitude, the entire school can be affected. Student may get anxious and tend to not like school. As the adults don’t take action and try to prevent bulling, children may feel that teachers and other school staff have little control over the students and don’t care what happens to them. Moreover Students who witness bullying can also be affected. They may feel guilty for not helping or scared that they will be the next target (gomasa, n.d.).
Schools which have implemented strict anti-bullying policies have taken an effective approach to stop bullying and create a healthy learning environment for students to participate
As a result, they will become more socially to meet new friends and they will have many friends. For the poor students, they will become extremely fearful to do new things that they never touch before and will not leaves to their comfort zone. Example like when
