Dear Senior Leaders:
As the newest hire, here at Dingwow Inc. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to assist in leading Dingwow Inc into the future. Also, thank you for giving me the opportunity to effectively create a fraudulent policy. This policy has the intentions of monitoring Dingwow’s internal controls which will lessen the rise of fraud. As you may or may not be aware developing a fraudulent program will not be an easy task nor will it be developed overnight. A fraudulent program must grow and evolve with a company. In the next paragraphs I will attempt to explain in detail what makes a strong fraud policy and how this policy will be related to Dingwow Inc. continued growth. Step one of the fraud

Making official statements shows all involved parties what the company will or will not tolerate about fraud. This setting is where fraud should be explained and what is constituted fraud. In order, for fraud to occur three things must happen. First, a person(s) must perceive a need. Meaning he/she believe they are in a desperate state, usually owing more money than they have. Second, is having the opportunity. The individual(s) waits for the right opportunity that allows him/her to commit fraud. The last element is when the individual(s) rationalize why they are committing fraud. The person(s) studies the background of fraud then learns to decipher the mistakes and inconsistencies in their daily activities (Kroll 2012). By understanding the elements of fraud policy it creates a culture of compliance. For instance, if the employee knows that Dingwow has policies and procedures in place to detect fraud he/she expects that the standards of the company is high, therefore the culture of the company begins to formulate and grow. Dingwow Inc. wants this for the company and its employees. We would like the employees to operate with the utmost diligence and respect in keeping the company
In this particular case, the organizational culture at Cole National Group was poor causing internal issue, which eventually blended over and caused poor exterior culture through this court case. One of the first things I noted was the lack of communication between management and the employees where policy and procedure for advancement and pay were concerned. Additionally if a Cole National Group is going to do performance reports, they should be part of the deciding factor in advancement, promotions, extra training, company benefits, and pay increases. Finally rewarding individuals for poor or average performance with pay raises and promotions sets a poor standard for the company and eventually will lead to losing knowledge workers and eventually customers.

These symptoms require investigation to discover the cause, whether it is fraud or not. There are 6 groups of fraud symptoms: accounting anomalies, internal control weaknesses, analytical anomalies, extravagant lifestyle, unusual behavor, and tips and complaints (Albrecht, Albrecht, Albrecht, & Zimbelman, 2012). Accounting anomalies are things that are not normal within the accounting records. This could be missing or fictitious documents or false entries into the books (Albrecht,
The fraud triangle is made up by three distinguished elements. These elements in the fraud triangle consist of pressure, opportunity, and rationalization. The overall representation of the fraud triangle can be seen as the specific model to spot any type of high-risk unethical and fraudulent performances being conducted by a company, in this case Cendant Corporation. Cedant Corporations actions can be analyzed by the fraud triangle by the way that their senior management/top management decisions fell into the three categories of pressure, rationalization, and opportunity. Cendant Corporation had the pressure to comply with their shareholders and to maintain a stable financial status to prove that they were a profitable organization with a bright company image.
Organizational culture is the foundation for organizations to strive and maintain success. Its structure of standards, include planning of human resources, management, health and safety, and the like. Organizations depend on these tactics to gain revenue, marketing strategies, and satisfaction of employees, and build relationships. Management should also be involved to create positive work environments, demonstrate great attitudes, and effective communication to its employees. The organizational culture at Walgreens is based on a variety of components within the organization.
Further, an essential element of constructive fraud is that defendants sought to benefit themselves in the transaction. Put simply, a plaintiff must show (1) the existence of a fiduciary duty, and (2) a breach of that duty.
The third principle is integrity which expresses inflexible ethical conduct in all their
Organizing – Organizational Culture Organizational culture consists of the set of shared, taken-for-granted implicit assumptions that a group holds in the workplace (Kinicki & Williams 226). The Publix Corporation formally states its commitment to its organizational culture in their published mission statement. One of the bullet points of the Publix mission is dedication “to the dignity, value and employment security of our associates” ("Mission Statement & Guarantee"). It is the founder’s values that drive an organization’s culture (Kinicki & Williams 227).
Organizational culture is a system of shared norms, values, and beliefs that govern people’s behavior. It
He also rationalized his fraudulent activities by hiding the customer’s late payment in order to be benefitted himself, but said that he was helping people more than he was helping himself. 2. Given that Mr. Pavlo’s fraud was restricted to an accounts receivable embezzlement scheme, what symptoms might auditors observe?
The Importance of a Company’s Culture The culture of a company is one of the most important and sometimes overlooked factors in an organization. The culture can increase employee engagement and increase productivity which will allow a company to reach its goals, “From productivity and engagement in the organization’s day-to-day, to an employer brand that naturally fuels recruiting efforts, to creating a lasting brand that customers immediately recognize, there’s no escaping it – culture radiates outward into the marketplace” (Straz 2015). The culture can have a great impact on the employees. Employees thrive in a positive working environment and the ability to engage with their managers without fear of retaliation.

Corporate culture is heavily dependent on the values and vision of the entrepreneur. It is very much related to the vision and mission statements of a company in how the company wants to be perceived by its stakeholders and how the company wants to achieve its visions. The entrepreneur is the one responsible in how the company conducts itself and therefore is the one responsible in setting the culture of the business. The behavior, actions, and interactions of the members of an organization emerge from the meaning that the reality of that organization has for them. Therefore, a good corporate culture is essential to creating a healthy and thriving workplace, where the workers an inspired to work for the good of the company.
Executive Summary Lehman Brothers were an investment bank involved in transactions worth billions of dollars and one of the most powerful investment banks in the world. Lehman Brothers collapsed in 2008 following bad investment in the sub-prime mortgage market and used bad accounting practices called Repo 105 transactions to try and cover up the bad assets. This report sets out the use of the fraud triangle when describing the actions which led to the collapse. The pressure applied on the bank, the opportunity due to the lack of regulation to carry out the actions and the ability of the bank to rationalise their decision making.
This three element fraud is often referred as a fraud triangle by the researchers (Cohen, Ding, Lesage & Stolowy, 2010, p. 276). On the other hand the theory of planned behavior focuses on the intentions behind the planned behavior. Ajzen (1991, p. 188) explains this as “attitude toward the behavior… refers to the degree to which a person has a favorable or unfavorable evaluation or appraisal of the behavior in question”. Cohen, Ding, Lesage & Stolowy (2010) have combined the fraud triangle and theory of planned behavior to understand that how the two theories can be collectively studied to find out the reasons behind the unethical activities that results in corporate frauds. Cohen, Ding, Lesage & Stolowy (2010) in their work studied various organizations including WorldCom and identified following: • WorldCom’s management had an excessive interest in maintaining the entity’s stock price and earning trends (p. 287).
