The hope and dream is still valid today in America and Martin Luther King’s paved pathway continues to be built off of and honored today. It is a path we as America can look back on, learn from, and continue to be inspired by today thanks to MLK’s
Nor will I have the opportunity to meet the Heroes who have died in action. Nonetheless, the quiet act of offering a handshake and an expression of gratefulness for their service personally honors America’s Military Heroes. You see, a handshake evokes “positive feelings of competence, trustworthiness, and it opens a relationship of positive cooperation (Huffington Post) ....” And the
“Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it.” Mark Twain. Do you truly appreciate the country you live in? The fact that you can be proud of saying the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’, can have an easier lifestyle, see amazing attractions, and have rights and freedom. When people show patriotism, this is showing their country love, devotion, and dedication.
"Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation's founders and heroes. As the ultimate icon of America's storied history, the Stars and Stripes represents the very best of this nation. " This is a quote from Congressman Joe Barton. To me this quote summarizes why flag protection is important, because the flag represents several things. Firstly and most importantly the Flag represents those that have govern their lives and sacrificed so much to ensure that the flag can fly to represent the continued freedom through the past, present, and future of the United States of America.
Many of us don’t have many things to go home to, and some might be used to the tattered clothing, and might not know the love of a family. The most important reason for me is loyalty and freedom of my country. “... but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and women… yet we have this consolation with us , that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” ( Document D)

What I also really liked about this speech was that It gave me a scene of respect for all those who have ever fought for our great country. I love America and am grateful for all that I have. I have always been grateful for what soldiers do, but now I realize how harsh war is. How scared and tired they must be. They are so brave to leave their homes, families and all that they have and risk their lives for the rest of The U.S.
Chris Kyle, an United States Navy SEAL, was a true american hero because he risked his life to save ours. He made the choice to sacrifice his life in order to protect our country. He took his duty as a Navy SEAL very seriously. By taking pride in his job he gained a lot of people 's respect for being a great soldier and an overall great guy. Chris was a hard worker, selfless, and a good family man.
Why are veterans America's heroes? I know some of you think of superman or spider man. But just because they don’t necessarily halve super powers. Although veterans don't halve superpowers they are heroes in ways I will explain in my essay. One way veterans are heroes is because they are loyal because if they weren't loyal they would give away information to the side that we are trying to beat in war or combat.
This commercial during the 2012 Superbowl by Jeep with a voice over of Oprah Winfrey, definitely did a good job tugging the heartstrings of the viewers. This is a very good example of pathos being used in a commercial. Jeep uses pathos to persuade the viewers to get excited about the war being over and their loved ones coming home. One can clearly tell that this commercial is focusing solely on the United States Army and those that are deployed overseas.
President Ronald Reagan’s speech on the 40th anniversary of D-Day is one to remember. He spoke of the bravery and showed the veterans gratitude for their selflessness to fight. The speech takes place in Normandy, France at the D-Day memorial. These veterans fought to give freedom back to those it was taken from. President Ronald Reagan does make a convincing argument in his remarks of the D-Day address because he not only recognizes the American veterans but also every veteran from the other countries who came to help.
