1. What is your evaluation of the way Levendary Café has entered the Chinese market?
Chinese market is attracting a wide range of Western companies as it has annual GPD growth and a large increase of the middle class as well as the urban population. However, in order to adapt the new products in Chinese market, the local values and food preferences should be considered. Some Western restaurants to succeed in China changed their menu, but maintained the atmosphere and style, while other was keeping the standardized image and principles. Trying to satisfy the Chinese customers with the taste, the Levendary Café in China has not only changed their entire menu and design, but also the whole concept of the Café which is “Tasty Fresh Goodness”.
Unlike the most successful fast food restaurants in China as KFC and Pizza Hut, Levendary Café in China leading by Louis Chen changed their interior and food menu both at the same time. In China it is essential to adapt the menu to the local food, as Chinese taste the way different from all other counties around the world and to keep their traditions, which includes food the honor of each Chinese person. Although, to change the menu is an important part of the way to succeed in China, but the American specialties have to be maintained too in order to save the image of the Western brand.
