Another phase at Lewin’s Model is movement. In this stage there was introduction of “Emotional Labor” that Georgiandes championed –that is there is high quality of energy is needed in order to meet the high standard of quality services in Airline industry since this may lead to emotional draining and permanent physiological burn out so an emotional support mechanism is needed to provide the emotional support the first line workers. There was important critical training programme was introduced so called “Managing People first” for the management level. This programme includes active participation of the senior management, to fro communication, feedback and appraisal policy.

In order to fix the changes that implemented in the BA a new appraisal system was introduced. Employees who symbolize the new BA culture and value were much likely to be promoted to a senior level. Secondly a new open learning programme was introduced by Georgiades for the managers including new training programmes for the bottom staff and new supervisor programmes for the at supervisor level. In addition to all programmes “Top Flight Academics” were introduced that provide training at the executive and high management level and eventually leads to MBA degree. This new performance appraisal system was introduced in order to make customer services more effective and peers development and focus were placed on BA symbols like new upgraded dresses, remodel aircrafts with a new corporate motto “We fly to serve”. There were certain HR policy were implemented like training the employees including the management to give an opportunity to share ideas during sessions and feedbacks for continues improvement for the organization changes. During the 1990 era BA faced the stiff competition with the entry of new competitors in the airline industry. These competitors played price policy tactics to gain market share form the existing airlines. To counter this threat BA come up with the strategic alliance with the American Airlines ,cut short its labor and hired new employees on lower wages and redefined the pay system.
