The British crisis of 1754-1775 was a very serious issue that warranted a cause for action. The American Revolution was a necessary cause which had to happen, and it marked a significant beginning of the history of America. It was a war for American independence from Britain. Two major factors triggered this war and conflict; tyranny and liberty. Tyranny simply is when people take over power unconstitutionally and oppress their people. However, liberty is freedom from somethings or freedom to do something. This was a serious issue that needed a drastic measure. The ideals of liberty and freedom of the American Revolution are evidently demonstrated in the Declaration of Independence. When the leaders signed the Declaration of Independence, their motive was to be completely free from British rule. They wanted their civil liberties to be restored. The revolution against the British was a success no doubt. However, the American Revolution ultimately failed to achieve the ideals of liberty and freedom set forth by its leaders. Life of Native Americans, African Americans and women in the New Republic was not a fair one. Native Americans were unallowed to become citizens of the new world called the United States of America. Although there were sovereign nations but they never invited by anyone to the negotiating table at the end of the American Revolution nor were their opinion needed concerning the creation of the new states. Native Americans were in an uncertain position, and they were completely aware of it. Also, most African Americans believed they had to own properties before being able to participate in politics.
