When it comes to life alone, who wants to think of death, when there is still the moment to live in? Certainly not me. When it comes to my reflection on the life that I have lived for 17 and a half years, there is obviously something that has both brought me the greatest amount of success and happiness. “What is that?”, you may ask, continue reading, and you will find out. Although I personally believe that there is life after death, I don’t think that death is something that we should strive for, because we are all given the gift of the moment that we are all living in right now. Although, I have had an experience that has brought me both the utmost success and happiness in my life thus far, that I know for sure won’t ever escape the grasp of my mind. My whole life from the time I was a little kid, up until today and going forward, I have dreamed of being an airline pilot. This idea first spurred when I went to visit my uncle in Boston and flew on an airplane for the first time. I was mesmerized, not only because of the feeling of the takeoff and landing, but also all of the cool switches and …show more content…
I started up the plane, went through my checklists, and was once again off the ground and in the air. Landing after landing passed, and soon my instructor called and said that we would be taxiing back to the ramp area. Upon arrival, he hopped out, signed my logbook, and briefed me on what I was to do. This was it, this was my moment of glory. Nervous and shaking, I stuttered and said that I understood what he had said. I taxied back to the runway, and this time at the end of my radio call tacked on, “Student Pilot”. I was cleared to take off, and took the runway. I took off and landed, and repeated this two more times, and then taxied back to meet my instructor at the hangar. Upon exiting the plane, a smile from ear to ear grew on my face, and I couldn’t stop
The pinnacle experience of my life so far occurred at the end of my junior year. I stood onstage and held my breath as I reveled in the surrealness of the moment. For everyone else on stage, their dreams since freshman year were coming true. However, I had not dared dream of such an event. My predecessor attached the pin to my blazer and just like that, it was official.
Safety: Safety is the number one goal to have when working in the medical field. Our goal in clinical was to make sure everyone remained safe in the workplace, including patients, staff members, and visitors. Some ways how we kept everyone safe included: addressing spills in a timely manner; using the medication rights; keeping bed wheels locked; following standard precautions; double-checking medications and patient charts; answering call lights in a timely manner; hourly rounding; washing our hands; wearing PPE when needed; and so on. There were so many things that we all did during the clinical day to keep all members safe and free from harm. The number one way is to implement standard precautions.
“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” ~ Norman Cousins (Singh). Many fear death and will fight tooth and nail to elude it. There are some who embrace death and live life to the fullest.
Personal Statement A human being has one life and one life only. The older I get the more I realize how precious my time is. An old friend of mine a mechanical engineer who has lived through the prime of his life reflected back on some marvelous experiences he had as a child where his parent would take him every week to watch the trains go by.
Understandably, the inevitable idea of death is feared by many myself included, however that is exactly why it is important to realize that we need to appreciate every moment we go through, even the bad ones because without that, life would have no meaning to it. The biggest mistake one can make is thinking life has a monetary value. Amanda Ripley’s article What Is a Life Worth? Explains how the
Death will always remind us to live life and push the boundaries and not look back. Many people share the same point of view as Steve Jobs. People such as Robert Ebert agree that death is imminent and that death always pushes us to our boundaries. Ebert also believes that death forced him to see his life in different ways. Ebert asserts, “When I am writing my problems become invisible and I am the same person I always was.
I felt like I had accomplished and did my job when I was
An individual should live his or her life to the broadest and celebrate each time in life before their
Intro: Sometimes in life we are given a choice. Some make us happy, some we regret , and others are the most difficult decisions we will ever have to make. We all live our lives fully aware that at some point we will end up dying just like everybody else in the world no matter how much we avoid addressing the fact. You wake up everyday with the routine you have created for yourself, until you hit an unexpected bump. You have six months to live.
My Greatest Accomplishment A truly great accomplishment is something that lasts and requires determination and extensive effort. For me, making the Texas Small School All-State Mixed Choir was my biggest accomplishment because it opened me up to new passions, taught me how to work hard, and set me on the path I am on today. In my sophomore year, I joined choir simply to get my fine arts credit out of the way.
It’s difficult to pinpoint a specific moment in one’s life in which your life is transformed. We often realize that this moment is so signingagent when looking back on personal experiences and don’t realize it at the time. For me, this moment occurred when I realized that I had taken what I love most for granted. It all started back in 2004 when my family suggested that I get into a sport at a young age.
My parents always stressed how we should do our best and have to work for the things we want. Growing up I learned this doesn’t come easy. As everything college is upon us I have reflected on these principles and pondered how I will come up with the money for my college education. The clear cut answer is scholarships. You will see in this essay that I am a worthy candidate for this scholarship.
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be successful in life. I have always wanted to be the better version of my parents and achieve many things in life. During my freshman year in High school, I knew I was going to major in business. I come from a household of five, my father, mother, two younger sisters, and myself. I am the first in my family to go to college and with that being said, I have always felt the pressure to be the best role model and example for my younger sisters.
A memorable day I my life is when I first found out I was a diabetic. I was scared and didn’t really understand what was happening. I was too sick, and for the most part out of my mind. But, what I do remember is a lot of pain and a few visitors. It wasn’t the best day and I don’t remember every detail.
There are many incidents one met in life that change the whole concept of living. Similarly I had an incident which not only change my vision towards life but also to the words you speak and how much they hurt someone enough that you then regret of saying them. It was a very dull morning for me.
