The Love of My Life It is often praised that mothers are the greatest ones in the world. However, if I am asked to speak highly of my mother, I cannot think of adequate words. In my heart, my love for my mother cannot be depicted with some beautiful words and the love is just understood by us. She is not tall, slim or very good-looking, but has curved eyebrows, big crystal eyes and a prominent nose; she is not intelligent, but totally unpretentious; she is a poor hand as a scholar, but extremely virtuous; and most significantly, she is not special, but the love of my life. How bad I was! On a summer afternoon, when I reached home, there was no one, no meal and no note. After I waited over ten minutes more and more cantankerously, my mother came back. She anxiously and guiltily asked, “Honey, how long have you been there? I’m very sorry for getting home too late. I cook for you immediately. Waite me, just a little while.” However, I still complained impatiently “Where did you go?” with no answer to her. And she only apologized again and again with no interpretation. Not until a several days’ night after that did I find blisters on her hands and she told me she went to dig edible wild herbs top for me on the mountain with my aunts every afternoon. Suddenly, I was self-condemned and uncomfortable very much for what I had done to her. I didn’t know what to say and the tears were walking around my eyes.
