There are always plenty of excuses to hide behind in life - I know because I've used excuses myself. I'm sure that if I asked you what has held you back in life you would be able to give me a long list of reasons. These reasons may be good ones and I'm sure you will have a lot of sad stories to tell; but perhaps the biggest reason we don't succeed is because we allow excuses to stop us from acting. Unless you can get realistic and face your life head on you will not get anywhere. Realistic about who you are You first need to learn to appreciate and love who you are. It is a waste of effort to wish you were someone else; or that somehow if you had only been born into a different family you would be a great success. You can waste a lot of energy and time wishing things were different but they are not. You are who you are, you cannot be anyone else. Realistic about your talents Have you ever watched a T.V. …show more content…
Realistic about the Universe I've added this one because there are a number of people who promote the idea that there is a law of the Universe that says if you dream about it often enough then you will get it. I don't believe this is true. It's not that I don't believe in the spiritual because I do and it's not that I think there is no benefit in dreaming because I do, but I don't believe this is enough. Having a vision or a dream is vital to success but it will be you that makes the success, not the Universe. God may help you and sometimes give you instant success but for 99.9999% of us we will have to make the success in what we do ourselves. I believe the old saying that "God helps those who helps themselves" is true. Don't look for the simple easy route because it will lead you to disappointment and disaster. Most of the people who get rich following this idea are those who sell the idea to others. Dare to
While material success is still a part that defines the dream, the most important foundation of the dream lies in self-satisfaction. Life will be better and richer and fuller for each person if they choose
As said by (Bruce Lee) Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it. You will just make bad decisions by following somebody else's
Throughout my life I have come from and created a few identities for myself. Perhaps, the most dominant identities that have been apart of my life are being an athlete and being a family orientated man. In this paper I will write about how my identities have shaped my life. First off I believe my biggest identity is being an athlete.
I skipped almost all of these steps with my other ventures. I had no bank account or landing page and didn’t even consider my ideal customers. I just had what I thought was a good idea, so I started building it. I didn’t validate the project to see if anyone was interested because I thought "I want that, so it must be something people want," or "I think that 's clever, so I think I 'll build it, and other people will sign up for it. " I then spent weeks and months working on these ideas on the side and at night.
If I keep working at it my dreams, they will come true soon. I will leave the bad things in the past and move on to a better life. I will set the rules for my life and follow them. I will follow God's rules as well. I will simplify my life and things will be
Over the course of the semester, my main goal was to become a more precise writer and develop my identity as a writer. According too, the Portfolio Letter assignment sheet, becoming a better writer consists of precise planning, draft and revising. It also includes understanding a variety of academic genres by examining the basic characteristics that defines each type. In order too efficiently meet my goal of becoming a better writer, it was very important to have my work evaluated by others and myself as well. The use of rhetorical knowledge, critical thinking, reading and writing all are the important aspects in this course.
To dream is to desire an achievement which seems unobtainable. Most everyone has trouble convincing themselves that their dreams are within reach. Jim Carrey once said, “So many of us choose our path out of fear disguised as practicality.” This is a result of allowing dreams to remain dreams and, instead, opting to take a more reliable path. In doing so, a sense of emptiness that never completely dies out is often developed.
Everyone has a dream. Although these dreams aren’t the ones you have while sleeping, they are the ones that drive you, challenge you and keep you fighting for the reality that they will become true. They are the dreams that you will work hard for. Martin Luther King Jr. even died while fighting for his dream to become a reality. They are the ones you hope will one day become a reality.
I have spent my entire life trying to discover and understand who am I, when I joined the Coaching class and was asked to introduce myself for 3 minutes it sounded like a breeze in the sand. Then I was asked to do it again without repeating my introduction and boom that was easy once more. In my head I am a Human Resources professional and all we do is talk when interviewing, reprimanding, training, coaching, guiding, accessing and many more times. Then the last blow came I have to introduce myself for the third time round, my thoughts were racing what have I not said about myself, what did I tell the 2 previous candidates, “what’s new Daisy, you have to find it think! think!
My Ideal Self Who/what do you want to achieve/have, why? In the shorter term (3 years), I want to graduate from HELP University’s Degree of Psychology in first-class honours. I understand claims stating such academic achievement is merely a graduation certificate, without guarantee of work opportunities. However, my aim is not motivated towards work opportunities or anything materialistic; I just want to appreciate and value every learning opportunity.
My Identity Defined My Identity is a collaboration of the other people who have had an impact on me, as well as the experiences I have undergone and endured so far in my life.. My heritage and ethnicity influences me to an extent, but it does not necessarily define me. I consider my identity to be how I see myself and what strengths I posses. I have produced the identity I hold, and outside forces have only positively influence me and helped to better myself as a person.
Self expression is a term many people use. The meaning of it is how you show your true self around people expressing thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Many of it can be seen through art, writing, music, and dance. People show themselves with many different expressions. It can be any type of art and even writing.
I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself.
William A. Ward once said, “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it”. If only this were always true; living would be so simple and easy. The idea behind a dream is that if an individual is ambitious and determined, he/she has a fair chance of fulfilling their goal, and the happiness that comes with it.
The question posed in the title, “Who am I?” is very simple but the answers are never so. What defines me as who I am as a person today are relatively my attitude, my personal values and beliefs to life that developed throughout my life. “Values are constructs that we hold as important and beliefs are constructs that we hold to be true (Collins & Chippendale, 1995)”. Meanwhile, attitudes are relatively lasting clusters of emotions, beliefs, and behavior tendencies directed towards specific ideas, people or objects (Baron & Byrne, 1984). Generally, my family members, friends and the experiences I had contribute to my sense of who I am and how I view the world.
