Lifelong Learning Course Analysis

During the duration of this course I have learned many things about technology and how it is now tied to education. Looking back at the Literacy Checklist, I have found two subjects I need to work on and two subjects I feel I have mastered a greater understanding of. The first subject I need to work on is being able to describe the P21 criteria for preparing 21st century learners. I do not understand this as strongly as hoped, although I will continue to learn more about the P21 criteria and 21st century learner as I achieve my educational and professional goals. I will achieve this by reading articles on the new and improved educational technology as well as looking for different types of computer software and programs to engage students learning. The second subject I feel I have mastered is using technology to support learner-centered strategies and meet content standards. I have mastered this by knowing that all learners are different. Some learners for example need hands on projects to comprehend the context of the subject when others simply just need to read the content to themselves as well as out loud. The standard that I need to work on is Standard #5: Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their schools and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. This standard is something I will always be working on. Learning the new technology and where to find it and use it is key to being successful in the future as a teacher. Technology is all around us and knowing about the newest technology is a necessity. The standard I feel I have mastered is Standard #2: Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content and learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes identified in the ISTE-S. During this class I have really shown improvement on this standard. I have already applied the tools learned in this class in my personal and professional life. I now know the potential in the software on my computer along with the software that is available to me. This class is a class that will continue to help me thrive as a future teacher and help me achieve the goals I have set for
