Capon Bridge Middle School On April 15th 1865 Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theatre. Then almost 100 years later on November 22nd 1963 John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. For many years people have tried to form a link between these two tragic events in American history. However are these two assassinations actually connected, or just oddly paralleled. According to historynewsnetwork.org (11/18/02) there are odd parallels between both the assassinations and lives of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. Kennedy. One such coincidence is that both John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald were murdered before their trials. A second coincidence is Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and then fled to theatre and Booth shot Lincoln in a theatre and fled to a warehouse. Another coincidence is that both were killed on a Friday before a major holiday. A fourth coincidence is that both presidents were shot in the back of the head. Also both of their successors had the last name Johnson. In conclusion theshadowlands.net (1995) says that there are many coincidences between the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Another fact from Demon Magazine (11/20/1999) is that both were elected president in the year 60 Lincoln in 1860 and Kennedy in 1960. Demon Magazine also states that Booth shot Lincoln in a theatre and ran to a warehouse and Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and fled to a theatre.
