According to the article Lindy West was being trolled by an online person and was sending her cruel and unusual things. The one thing I thought Lindy did well was that she fought through it in a good way. For example, when she first started talking to the man she said, “Hi, how are you?”(Say it all in Caps). She was really thinking there and if I would have been being trolled I would have probably got really mad and started swearing at the person. The one most useful topic I really enjoyed talking about this class and learned a lot about was the communication through technology chapter/ unit. I really found this one interesting because I love to use technology and because I am going into a technology field. I believe that all technology is not good for being an ethical communicator but I do believe that it can help at times for communication. Email is an example of technology being used and many businesses use it. I believe that if people get the right training they will become better at emailing and will be able to be more ethical in a business setting, or any setting that has to do with emailing in general. The one challenge I had regarding communication was the listening aspect. I really realized how much listening is and how crucial it to be a competent listener. Listening is not just hearing, it is really grasping what the other person is trying to say, and their point. I believe that since I learned that I will become an even more ethical communicator in life and see other people’s views better. Before I took this class I did not know about Carter at all and after reading and getting to know his steps to Integrity it has made me better at communication. The last thing that challenged me was getting to know about the other races and how they have completely different views that I myself. I was never a person to even grasp anyone’s view other than myself, but this class has helped me become better at listening …show more content…
After this class I really plan on to continue working on my listening skills. I believe that listening is a very big part in our culture and being able to pay attention to what they have to say will only help me out in the long run. This goal is important to me because I want to be the best at what I do and not listening will not get me anywhere and I have the motivation to do my best at everything, and being a competent listener is one of those things on my list. My last goal is to become very knowledgeable in my studies so when I am able to get a job I will be able to communicate with the people in my field. I think that if I am above others at communicating in my field and comprehending everything that they say and or ask that I will be a high valued asset in their company/ business. This is important to me because I want to get a good job and to do my job the most efficient way possible, and the start is by knowing how to

I learned what it took to be successful, that I couldn 't just go through the motions. I learned one of the most important lessons of my college career thus far, and it is this- in order to be successful here (at Texas A&M), you must immerse yourself in every lesson, every lecture, every class. Everything must be 100%, and not a second should go to waste. Each moment is a moment to learn and to better yourself and your knowledge. There will be concepts that you just don 't understand, and when that road block is reached, immediate action must be taken; there 's a commonly spoken line that I never really listened to until recently, and that line is, "don 't be afraid to ask for help!"
