Line managers are the managers who always involves and working with the employees of the organization. Line managers can also address as the direct managers. They individually responsible for managing employees and resources to achieving specific functional or organizational goals.
Recruitment and management of employees are the main activities that the line managers have to do on their day to day work. And these are some of the other activities that line managers have to do in their job.

• Filling out performance appraisal forms
• Interviewing candidates for employment
• Making salary increase recommendations

Disciplining employees
Policies and procedures are generated by Human Resource managers but they are implementing by the line managers. Line managers’ commitment is influence to the employee behaviour and discipline. Line manager need to ensure that their team of employees are well behaved in the organization. Whether the employee report to the work on time, whether they spend more time in their breaks, whether they behave according to the rules and regulations.

Checking quality
Checking the quality is the most significant function in the organizations. If it is a manufacturing organization, the products should meet the standard quality and if it is a service organization, there should have a stranded quality in their service. All the customer satisfaction, sales, profits are depending on the product quality. Human resource managers have to face more problems in the management because of continuous changing socio economics, technological and political conditions. If they do not update themselves within the changes in environment the all human resources managers have to face more difficulties in the future.

Technology is the fastest changing factor in these days. Organizations are also converting into modern technology therefore employees are also should have the knowledge of technology. Future generation are already updating with the technology whereas elder generation could not have much knowledge about the technology. In the organization there are employees at different age levels, therefore elder employees should be train to be familiar with the technological equipments. Because of that the organization need to put more effort to give additional training to these kinds of trainings so it is one of the challenge that the line managers should face in the current business
