Chapter 1. Introduction
The objective of deducing an antibacterial resistance is to enable fish farmers or those working with fishes have fishes that are stronger and not susceptible to bacterial infections. This coupled with factors such as the cost and effectively has led to the decision of using herbs which is both cheap in cost, efficient and also easy to produce. Since ginger, garlic and onion are herbs that are known to not just be able to assist in the absorption of amino acids and other nutrients but also have antibacterial properties which in turn may improve the immune system of the tilapia radically; the experiment would be set to revolve these three herbs.

The purpose of this study is to recognize which herbal extract would be able to provide the most antibacterial resistance both on its own and when ingested by the tilapias. In its normal state, the fishes are noted for their ability to live in schools and solitarily. Male tilapias defend its territory by visual aggression and this presents no physical harm to the targeted fish. These include erection of medial fins, expansion of mouth or at the most, pursuing the opposing fish through nipping. However, if kept in a densely populated environment, these signs would be greatly reduced hence enabling the storage of tilapias in aquacultures or fish farms to be easy with minimal deaths due to behavioral issues. Behavioral testing has as such been commonly conducted to see how different variation of parameters be it food, fish-fish interaction or environment of growth.
