Have you ever lost a loved one before it was their time? Live life to its fullest ability. The song chosen was “Live Like You’re Dying” by Tim McGraw, because you never know when your last day will be. Tim’s music represents the country genre, which has a mixture of songs about life and love. It’s important to live life to its fullest ability while you’re young. Life is super short, you never know when your last day will be, Tim McGraw’s song “Live Like You’re Dying” fits perfectly to my point. Khalid was born on February 11th, 1998. He is nineteen and was born in Fort Stewart, Georgia. He got into music by entering a talent show in his hometown, more like a county competition. Soon after that he got recognized and his music blew up. Everyone instantly loved him. In fact one of his songs “Angels” was played on the hit show Grey’s Anatomy, in the episode “Don’t stop me now” which aired April 27th, 2017. Life is short, it’s important to live it to its fullest capability while you’re young. Tim McGraw says in his song “Live Like You’re Dying” that “I was in my early forties, with a lot of life before me, then a moment came that stopped me on a dime.” Which means to me you never know …show more content…
In Khalid’s song “Young, Dumb, and Broke” he states “What’s fun about commitment? When we have our lives to live, we’re just young, dumb, broke high school kids.” This means to me why be tied down when you’re young and have so much living, and experiencing to do (Young, Dumb, and Broke). Finally in the song “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi, they state “It’s my life, it’s now or never, I ain’t gonna live forever” which I feel means if you wanna do something with your life, nows the time to do it (It’s My Life). All these artists are portraying that life is short and to live it while you
Their story shows how in times of financial problems, family and love stands strong. Kenny Loggins wrote this song as a gift to his brother, Danny. There is an indirect theme which follows the entire story. This theme is love and

Tim McGraw is an American country singer and song writer. Many of his albums have been on top of music charts, making him the third best-selling country singer. The one song that really sticks out to me the most is “Live Like You Were Dying”. Tim wrote this song for his dad Tug McGraw who died of cancer earlier in the year. (Wikipedia, Tim-McGraw).
“The Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash explains how Hester felt as she sat in the prison cell awaiting her punishment with infant, Pearl. The song talks about an inmate who is describing everything good about the free world. Johnny Cash sings, “and I ain’t seen the sunshine, since I don’t know when.” This is similar to The Scarlet Letter because Hester is never portrayed as being in the sunlight just like Johnny Cash describes. He talks about what is happening in the outside world and how, if he had the choice, he would move as far away from the prison as possible.
Heartbreak Hotel is a song that was recorded by Elvis Presley and was written by a high school teacher named Mae Axton and a steel guitar player named Tommy Durden. He recorded the song with his band the Blue moon boys. It was his first million-seller and the bestselling single of 1956.
The five song playlist that I chose is Fireworks, Set fire to the rain, The way, Love the way you lie and Firestones. All of these songs relates to the novel in different ways. The song Fireworks by katy Perry relates to the novel Fahrenheit 451 because in this song it is saying if you ever feel Like a plastic bag drifting through the wind wanting to start again. Guy Montag had committed mistakes that he might regretted.
The story titled the Long Black Song has a controversial balance of power that is shown throughout the narrative. As time progresses, the struggle between men and women is heightened and there seems to be a passive partner paired with a mastery one. Sarah, a married housewife, was portrayed as being powerless within her own race, but when compared to the white man, Sarah gained physical and mental strength because she was curious about how being with the opposite race would feel, as well as the fact that black men were exceedingly domineering. Sarah was portrayed as a very frail character when equated to her husband, Silas, because the black men are the most dominant partner within an ethnically similar relationship.
Hip-hop is an influential form of music that displays an artist’s honest and revealing story that many of the general public can relate to. One of the many songs that I can relate to is “Love Yourz” written by J Cole. The song talks about how Cole reflects on the most important things in life such as love and happiness. He realizes that the money and fame didn’t bring him the happiness he desired. To gain true happiness, he needed to appreciate himself and those that love him.
“What’s Going On” I believe protest music is any song that is associated with change or the defiance of a prior principle. It does not matter if the song or genre was written for the purpose of revolution or if the song is a rally cry or only meant to spread awareness, but if the lyrics and the feeling of the song invoke those ideas, it may be considered protest music. Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” was written about the Vietnam War, but people choose to interpret the song as a cry for civil rights. A song does not need to begin as socially aware to be considered a protest song because it’s about how it’s interpreted by others and used.
He continues to travel and made more albums that focuses merely on his voice and his own acoustic guitar, and spend time for family and friends. He also talks at length about people who die on his original band including Luther Perkins and Roy Orbison. At the end the author says that he hopes he doesn’t disappoint the fans though they knew that he has aged. He hoped that all of the performers will die on stage, in the middle of a favorite song and surrounded by the loved ones and members of the band. II.

The song that I chose was “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. It was released in 2004, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. It also hit number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Natasha Bedingfield has another popular song “Pocketful of Sunshine” and was really only popular in 2004-2006. You can find her songs on multiple 00’s playlists.
Life is short. This statement is made by many but taken seriously by so few. The song “I Hope you Dance” by Lee Ann Womack , and more specifically the lyric “When you get the chance to sit it out or dance/I hope you dance” (8-9) describes the decision of living life to the fullest. Life will not stop for anyone or anything so why not live life with such caution. No one can make the rain stop so why does one choose to sit inside waiting for the storm to pass.
Generativity versus stagnation is the seventh stage of Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development. This stage takes place during middle adulthood between the ages of approximately 40 and 65. During this time, adults strive to create or nurture things that will outlast them; often by parenting children or contributing to positive changes that benefit other people. Contributing to society and doing things to benefit future generations are important needs at the generativity versus stagnation stage of development.
All music has multiple functions. While music can preserve artistic value, it can also simultaneously tell a story, bring people together, historicize, heal, and rejuvenate. Most importantly, however, it sends a strong message and stimulates strong emotions to the listener. The song, “Where is the Love” by The Black Eyed Peas, performs all of these functions. The song symbolizes the sociological conflict theory.
