Have you ever done something against the law and got away with it.Well if you have, it probably wasn’t as bad as what Lizzie Borden got away with. Lizzie Borden got away with killing her father and her step mother.I strongly believe that Lizzie Borden killed her father and stepmother. The reasons I believe Lizzie Borden is guilty is because she was seen trying to buy a prussic acid which is a poison a couple days before her parents murder, once her parents bodies were found she sent the people who came to help off to do errands, and 4 days after the murders she burned a dress she claims was ruined from paint stains. These are all main facts that were used against Lizzie used in trial which have me convinced Lizzie did kill her parents. One important thing to note is LIzzie Borden hated her stepmother, that could have been a really good motive to try to poison her. Maybe Lizzie snapped.According to 14 reasons to Believe Lizzie Murdered Her Parents it states” Lizzie was seen trying to buy a prussic acid which is a poison, but was denied”.You don’t just buy prussic acid if there isn’t a reason to buy it. Isn’t it a little suspicious that Lizzie tried to purchase a poison a couple of days …show more content…
Lizzie sending the people who came to help off on errands I believe was so that they wouldn’t see any stains of blood on her or the hatchet that was used to kill her parents anywhere to turn into the police. If she was supposedly grieving she would have wanted to have someone with her not only so she wouldn’t be alone, but also because the so called killer still could have been somewhere around the
Lizzie found her father 11 am dead in the setting room and told Bridget. Before the police had arrived, three people were already at the crime scene besides Lizzie and Bridget. Mrs. Adelaide Churchill, a next door neighbor had arrived, Mrs. Bowen, Dr. Bowen, and Alice Russell arrived before the police arrive at the crime scene. Only to police arrive first at the scene, the rest of the department were on department’s annual picnic. When the policies arrived, they made a quick superficial search of Emma’s room, Lizzie older sister “ A bundled blanket lay on the floor of Emma’s room closet.
According to Lizzie Borden Case Open to New Analysis, Katradijion, May 13, 2012, “Borden’s father became known as an evil man who did not provide for his daughters.” This is substantial evidence because if Lizzie was mistreated by her father, that is a reason that she was driven to murder
Also, Bridget and Lizzie killing Andrew and Abby Borden makes sense when they say that both had no emotions when they found the bodies but they were also angry with Andrew and Abby Borden. When Lizzie and Bridget found the bodies, Lizzie burned a white dress claim it was stained with red paint. She burned the dress in the kitchen, on the stove. However, Despite the rapidity of Herald News’s claim about how Lizzie Borden killed her parents they miss the mark when it comes to Bridget being there when the death of Andrew and Abby Borden because she was there when they were murdered. Bridget has been there for the family for a while.
It is clear that Lizzie Borden committed this crime because of the evidence against her, the rage in the murders, and
Have you ever killed some one? Over a 100 years ago Lizzie's parents were brutally murdered by someone and the only person they focused on was the daughter lizzie borden. Lizzie Borden was the axe murderer no doubt about it because all the signs pointed to no other than Lizzie herself. The reason I think Lizzie killed her parents was because she didn't like her stepmother and thought if she didn't kill her father her father would think its her. Lizzie is a true mastermind to have gotten away with murder because there is no other explanation to Lizzie's parents brutal death.
I read through all the witness testimonies and Lizzie Borden is guilty let me tell you why. All these testimonies mentioned something that made her look guilty. here’s why, she changed the story way too much, Lizzie Borden burned a really big piece of evidence, she also could have been jealous of her stepmother because her father bought her stepmother Abby Borden a house. Lizzie Borden seems to change her answers a lot in the very last document. Let me explain to you why she is guilty.
Plus, she also tried to buy poison, but thankfully failed. Was that almost the way she was going to murder? Lizzie had an argument with her parents, just one week before the murders and chose to stay in a separate home for four days. Adding on to having an argument, just a few days before the murders, Lizzie tried to buy toxins. Although the police could not present the purchasing in the trial and the idea that all families have frenzied arguments, Lizzie definitely is guilty.
Lizzie Borden is Guilty Many cases were named “Trials of the 19th Century”. Lizzie Borden’s trial was one of them. Lizzie was put on trial for the murder of her father and step mother.
I have done enough research to know that there are three reasons why Lizzie didn’t commit this hideous crime. There were other people home at the time of the murder. The night before the murder John Morse, the uncle, showed up unexpectedly. In her statement to the police, Lizzie was outside at the time of the murder, so she wasn’t in the
Before Abby’s death, a dressmaker mistakenly referred to Abby as Lizzie’s mother. To the dressmaker’s surprise, Lizzie roared, “don’t call her that to me. She is a mean thing and we hate her.” Lizzie claimed that her older sister, Emma, was the only maternal figure in her life. Furthermore, Lizzie’s relationship with her father was strained.
Held in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the trial of Lizzie Borden contained many suspicious, unusual, and debatable reactions and pieces of evidence, causing the jury to decide on an unlikely verdict of not guilty (Berni 34). From the start, Lizzie Borden provided many inconsistent facts about the murders (Hazell). One example of Lizzie Borden’s changing story relates to the note her stepmother allegedly received prior to her murder. When asked for proof of the letter, Lizzie concluded that she had disposed of it. Ms. Borden’s suspicious stories also included the burning of a dress “stained by paint” and the eating of pears in a barn outside the home on the hottest summer day (Stuart).
Lizzie and her parents had a strong, devoted, and long-standing relationship, making a motive for murder unlikely. There is no incriminating evidence such as blood found on Lizzie. In addition, other possible suspects
Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, this is a case about two people, a man and a woman, who’s lives were ended by an unfair and untimely death. Today we are here to give closure to Abby and Andrew Borden’s demise, by bringing their cold-blooded, greedy, unlawful, and backstabbing daughter, Lizzie Borden, to justice. We know that Lizzie Borden was not on good terms with her stepmother, as Abby had been given an amount of land from Andrew that Lizzie thought that she and Emma should rightfully have in their possession. It also would seem as though Andrew Borden was both physically and sexually abusive to his daughters while Abby did nothing. We also know that Lizzie was preparing a murder weapon on August 3rd, the day before the murders, in the form of prussic acid; she attempted to buy some from a druggist by the name of Eli Bence,
For one, there was no physical evidence linking Lizzie to the murders, and no murder weapon was ever found. Furthermore, there were conflicting witness statements about Lizzie's whereabouts at the time of the murders, which suggested that she may not have been in the house when they occurred. Finally, Lizzie had no prior history of violence or criminal behavior, which made it difficult to believe that she would suddenly become a cold-blooded killer. So, was Lizzie Borden guilty or innocent?
In Lizzie Borden: Murderess or Media Sensation it states that “There was no physical evidence linking her to the murders” There was no evidence that she did the murders. They didn't question anybody but Lizzie. Anyone could have done it. This just proves that Lizzie did not do
