1.4.3 LOCKE VALUE THEORY

Locke value theory explained that job satisfaction is related to the expectation desired by the human life and job outcomes. As the employee closer to the perceived desired goals the job satisfaction values become higher. According to Locke value theory job satisfaction comes to the outcome same as the individual value explained by the Herzberg. Higher difference gap comes out with more satisfaction and over the gap closer the dissatisfaction level because job satisfaction may be derived from several factors of job outcomes. Locke value theory described based on the various researches job satisfaction is fully depends on the job outcomes. (Locke, 1976)

After some time this theory was fully expressed by Abraham Maslow in his book "Motivation and Personality" in 1954. (Maslow, 1943) Hierarchy of needs theory is also known as the Maslow Hierarchy of Need Theory. Hierarchy of needs theory is mostly used by the psychologist in psychology subject. Some psychologists believe that to fulfill the needs individuals behave and exhibit in a specific method. Maslow Hierarchy of Need Theory based on five segments. Job satisfaction of the library professional naturally depends on the economic, social and cultural conditions. Job satisfaction among library professionals is an important factor for the development of the information society as it will affect the quality of the library services. Job satisfaction of library professionals is an important factor in making the profession more functional and effective. However, it may be suspected that the overall job satisfaction of library professionals is determined by a higher order of emotional and social needs, most notably professional self-esteem and job security, inter-personal relations at work, opportunities for career progression, working environment and workload and productivity/learning outcomes. Another related key issue is responsibility of these library professionals for library management and user community during job. Sometimes, job stress gives rise to certain physiological, psychological, social and physical problem among womens.
