The Los Angeles Clippers are a professional basketball team in the western conference of the NBA, the Clippers have been in three different cities, they’ve had some good players on their team, and they’ve had unsuccessful and successful seasons. The Buffalo Braves were in the NBA from 1970 to 1978 before moving to San Diego. When they moved to San Diego they also changed their name to the Clippers. Shortly after they got to San Diego they moved to Los Angeles. The Buffalo Braves went to the eastern conference semifinals three years in a row. “Buffalo joined the NBA in 1970 in an expansion that also welcomed the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers to the league. In 1999 the Clippers drafted Lamar Odom, Odom was one of the most productive players ever for the Clippers. Odom had no all star appearances, but he had two championships. The best trade the Clippers ever made was to send three players and a first round draft pick to the New Orleans Hornets, now the Pelicans, for the four time all-star point guard Chris Paul. Chris Paul would end up leading the Clippers to six straight playoff appearances. This last summer Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets. In 2008 the Clippers drafted DeAndre Jordan, and in 2009 they drafted Blake Griffin. “Taking Blake Griffin with the number one selection in the NBA draft was the incredibly simple move for the Clippers, the painfully easy open jumper, if you will.” Griffin and Jordan would end up as one of the best front court duo in the western conference, and they had Chris Paul as their point guard. Blake Griffin won rookie of the year and ended up as a five time all star. DeAndre Jordan ended up as only a one time all star, but both of them are still playing.
