The Reality of Romeo Romeo a kind, noble sir. Romeo is a character that is more realistic to today's audience. Romeo shows heroism and compassion all through the play. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, is supposed to be a tragedy it shows how love was won, but by hurt and sadness that was done.Romeo shows his love for Juliet in many special and heroic ways throughout the story. Even though the struggles, trial, and tribulation they face, Romeo still stays true with Juliet in more ways than one and most people today still do they same with the one they love.

Although love at times can inflict harm, love is a force of good as it joins people together, brings out the best qualities in a person, and provides joy. Looking at the book Romeo and Juliet, you see love as a good impact as it brings people together. In this book, there are two teenagers, valiant Romeo, from the Montague family, and beautiful Juliet, from the Capulet family who fall in love and marry each other secretly. In the end, they kill themselves based on their love and when their parents find out, they end the feud to honor their children saying, “O’ brother Montague, give me thy hand.” (5.3.296) Here, love connected the Capulets and Montagues. Because of love, a feud ended and peace was restored between the families and the streets of Verona.

One of the most famous examples is a play based on Romeo’s and Juliet’s love. (Shakespeare, 1597) The play is considered to be a tragedy because of so many deaths due to the love of two protagonists. Both of lovers and their families suffer due to the effect of their love. Romeo and Juliet considered their love as one of a kind, so they got married as fast as possible. It was a terrible decision due to the fact that later on lovers are separated and are miserable without each other.

Both romeo and juliet believed that they could not live without one another so when romeo mistakenly thought juliet died, he killed himself which led to the death of juliet. Throughout the story, the recurring problem of the rising tensions between the two families always makes things harder and harder for romeo and juliet. Both romeo and juliet hate being montagues and capulets, and it is very clear and easy to see this because it is shown during the story when Juliet says “Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.’’ (2.2.34-36). Juliet doesn’t know that romeo is there but she is talking to herself and is wishing that they didn’t half to do deal with the feud anymore so that way her and Romeo could be together.

The Friar’s excessive pride allows him to agree to wed Romeo and Juliet, hoping he can bring the Montagues and Capulets together, though these families hatred spans generations. He even states his goal. “For this alliance so happy prove / To turn your households’ rancor to pure love” (2.3. 91-92). Whether the Friar realizes it or not, he has just done something terrible that only strengthens the bond of these two lovers.

The citizens stain their hands with blood of fellow citizens. But Romeo the son of the Montague and Juliet the daughter of the Capulet become lovers and commit suicide. Which unfortunately ends the feud between the two families. They had and not so happy ending. In the beginning of the play, the motif time is revealing through figurative language.

In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, love between the two main characters is demonstrated by their perseverance, sacrifices, and unwillingness to live without each other. Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet experience life changing events together and even make the ultimate sacrifice by joining each other in death. The meaning of love can be interpreted in many ways, but some significant qualities are affection, accepting, and selflessness. While Romeo and Juliet are a pair of star-crossed lovers, they definitely have these qualities. Their love can be debated as infatuation, but their actions and words prove otherwise.

For example out of love for their now dead kids the montagues and capulets come to an agreement and end their feud. As well they decide to build gold statues of the kid from the opposite family. therefore showing that love canceled out the hate between the other families. (Shakespeare 5.2) In this scene, Friar Laurence explains how it’s very dangerous that the letter was not sent, as Romeo then has no idea that Juliet isn’t really dead and that she is faking her death. This, of course, leads to Romeo’s death, and then shortly after, Juliet’s death. What was supposed to be a plan to escape and live happily ever after as a married couple, goes horribly wrong and ends in the deaths of the two people the plan was made for in the first place. Another somewhat minor mistake that changes the future is Romeo and Juliet’s mistake to pursue their love.

Just one of these traumatic events could make a character go mad, but the combination of the three justifies Ophelia’s madness.
