The “Like Kanye Loves Kanye” meme originates from what may be most obvious, the vain reputation of rapper Kanye West. The world is familiar with Kanye for not only his music, but his selfish personality. For example, in September of 2009, Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift’s speech after she won the award for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards (Know Your Meme). He got on stage, took the microphone from Taylor Swift, and proceeded telling the audience that Beyoncé had “one of the best videos of all time” (Alessandro R. C. ). The picture shown in the meme comes from this specific incident. In addition, the meme also alludes to the cliché saying “I want someone to love me,” which is common for people to say who are looking for a relationship. The phrase typically appears in song lyrics and movies to describe the kind of love someone wants to have.

Analyzing this idea, the meme also uses the type of humor known as irony. Ironic humor involves “incongruity and discordance with norms, in which the intended meaning is opposite, or nearly opposite, to the literal meaning” (Nichols). Therefore, the chosen meme is ironic because the creator seems to be asking for the kind of love a conceited person has for himself or herself. When in search of love, one does not typically desire selfish qualities in their spouse or mate. However, the meme suggests the creator wants to have a love like Kanye has for himself. The desire for love from a self-centered human being is ironic since selfish individuals only have love for themselves and would not be willing to put someone else’s needs before their own. The kind of love the creator is looking for is incomparable to Kanye’s love because being loved by an egotistical man more than he loves himself does not
Around the world, there are thousands of starving children that seem to go unnoticed daily. Shoppers are constantly in the supermarket filling their carts with hundreds of dollars’ worth of groceries for their family’s without thinking of those in need. In 2008, a remarkable shopping cart ad was released which depicts a distraught young African American child reaching up to the shopper begging for help to save him from starvation. Feed SA, a charitable organization which helps the poverty-stricken across the county has designed a striking ad to bring attention to just how easy donating can be. The effectiveness of this ad is due to the powerful rhetorical appeals to pathos in which it implements.
In this essay, Hip Hop Stole My Black Boy by Kiese Laymon, is a story about two boys whose dreams was to become a hip hop artist. Even though their parents did not like the idea. Laymon, says that "But as hip hop moved from the boroughs to Compton in late 80's and early 90's, daring west coast soldiers, west coast sensibilities and west of us rappers seemed more in line with our reality" (Laymon 226). I think he was referring to the two boys, because they did not like the idea of living their home town and go to another city at first, but when they move from one city to another they did enjoy it after all. The word "Cipher" was mentioned several times in this essay.
Corresponding ideas and uses of rhetorical devices can bridge together multiple stories. The themes of interdependence on other human beings and essentials of life are shown throughout the novels “102 Minutes” by Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn, and “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer. One may think that these pieces have nothing in common, but in order to interpret the overlying ideas, readers must look deeper than the main ideas of each book to figure out how they develop upon one another. The stories “Into the Wild,” and “102 Minutes” both use a plentiful amount of overarching viewpoints and many of the same tools of rhetoric, such as word choice, delivery and style to help expand and make connections between novels. Jon Krakauer’s purpose for “Into

In the American music industry, record companies stuff the pockets of the lowest common denominator. Celebrity singers drop their integrity at the door as they enter the studio, recording tracks that discourage free, radical thought. In this empty-headed industry, few successful artists have a meaningful message to deliver unto their audience, with one exception—Kendrick Lamar, a young, conscious rapper from Compton, California. In his album, To Pimp a Butterfly, Lamar poignantly delivers a controversial message that most African American hip-hop fans would initially reject. To do so, he deliberately frames all eighteen tracks of the album in such a way that builds his own credibility as a leader on top of a powerful emotional connection with his

‘How to Explain White Supremacy to a White Supremacist,’ is a poem that addresses multiple issues within racism that we do not often care to look at. It is written by a powerful public speaker and activist commonly know as Guante. It dives under the surface of what you see on the news and really hits home with its moving stanzas full of intelligent metaphors. I believe this poem to be all about the bystanders, who sit and watch people make derogatory comments and remarks yet fail to tell them it is wrong. This message really made me passionate about using my voice and encouraging others to do the same.

This is a literary analysis on the novel 1984 by George Orwell. 1984 is a more recent classic dystopian novel. Written in 1949, it's based in the future year of what is presumed to be 1984. It focuses on the life of Winston Smith, a member of the newly established Party that rules over a territory called Oceania and that is led by a man called Big Brother. This novel provides a rather frightening insight into a dystopian socialist environment.
The song Dear Mama by Tupac Shakur relates to the ongoing struggle and hardships that numerous lower class single mothers endure, where Shakur describes how he learned to appreciate his mother and the sacrifices that she made for him as he became older. By formatting the lyrics with verses around a repeating chorus, Shakur was able to emphasize his personal narrative within the verses and allow for a recollection period between each verse to allow listeners to reflect on and comprehend what they just experienced. The form of Dear Mama is consistently strophic, where at the end of each verse Shakur repeats the emblematic phrase, “There's no way I can pay you back, but the plan is to show you that I understand, you are appreciated.” Appealingly,
Rhetorical Analysis of Leader Language In my point of view, I found Bill Gates as the most promising leader throughout the globe. Bill Gates was the youngest, wealthiest CEO of all time, but this success was not only achieved by luck. His inspiring charming personality and effective communication skills made him the real “BILL GATES”. One of his talks on the teacher’s feedback is much of an importance.
